Layering Print on Print Trend Pose Off- Comment to Win!
Stripes and polka dots? Plaids and florals? Animal print and tweed? Mixing prints and patterns may be a traditional fashion no-no, but here at ChickAdvisor, we're a bit rebellious and never one to play by the rules. So, we decided to do a little fashion rule breaking by layering prints on prints, creating quirky, one of a kind looks.
While being able to pull off these print mixes may seem like a daunting task, we're here to help you break it down. We also took inspiration from this, to help us co-ordinate and style ourselves.
Mandy
Mandy used not only patterns but textures in her outfit. With a cable knit sweater, a plaid shirt, leather shorts and polka dot tights, Mandy has an edgy and funky look. Mandy follows a good rule of thumb for wearing prints: match your print size to your frame. Because Mandy is petite, she wears smaller prints as to not overwhelm her figure.
Michelle
Michelle went all out with her layered prints ensemble and we love the results! Though she's mixed florals, polka dots, stripes and houndstooth, Michelle works this look because she's kept it all in the same colour family. This look is perfect for springtime and we're especially crushing on those fabulous printed pants!
Alexandra
Alexandra keeps it fairly simple for her look, adding touches of prints and patterns here and there. She goes for a more conservative look by using a monochromatic palette then adding a basic tweed jacket over top. Her leopard print booties (which you may recognize from this pose off) are a statement item for the entire look.
Which one of these looks do you like the best? Leave a comment with your top pick by March 4th to win!

Mandy definitely wins in my books, followed closely by Alexandra. I'm really not a fan of Michelle's look though.
I love Mandy's look. The little touches of subtle pattern and texture work very well together.
Mandy! | |
I think Mandy's is the best! The prints aren't too overpowering and the small prints can actually be pulled off very well

I love Mandy's outfit!!
Mandy's is very casual, and Alexandra's could be pulled off at work. Love them both. Not a big fan of Michelle's though; it just looks very thrown together.
