Makeup Transformation: We Try a Blue Eye

Posted by ChickAdvisor Team | Monday July 4, 201151 comments

Since so many of you Chicks were skeptical about trying the blue eye shadow trend, we gave a few of our favourite blue products in the office a test drive.

Tammy goes from bare eyes to bright with the Mary Kay Shadow and Line Duo. The blue and brown colour combination not only is Oprah's favourite, it also really makes Tammy's eyes pop.

Tasha takes her eyes from plain for day at the office to a dramatic smokey eye for night out with Lancome Denis Gagnon Collection Parisian Nights Quartet.

Alexandra is always fierce, but the turquoise Sephora Jumbo Liner 12 Hour Waterproof on her lids brings attention to her pretty brown eyes.

Jenni tried GOSH Ocean Club Extreme Art Eyeliner in Deep Sea Blue. If eyes are the window to the soul, she's framed hers well in this bright blue.

What do you like better, a bare eye or blue? Tell us in the comments below by July 11th and get entered to win a beauty prize (it'll be one of the five we're giving away this week, check out this article to see what they are).

Reminder: If you are not yet a ChickAdvisor member (and here's the link to sign up for a free profile), please make sure to include an email address so we know how to contact you if you are our winner. Good luck!

I like the blue eyeshadow. I think all the ladies look great. However, it must be done properly or
otherwise it could be too much.

I've always been a fan of blue eyeshadow, liner and my guilty pleasure--blue mascara. This season I have a legitimate excuse to wear it! I love Tammy's look--she's picked the right "blue hue" for her skin tone (which is important) and kept her lip colour in a nude tone so that she doesn't look to 80s.

I like the blue, as long as you use the right one for your skintone.

The blue adds a great touch! Here is why I like blue better than bare....

It is summer time and weather you are sailing of to the tropics or filling your appetite for fun at your local aquatics center exotic fashions are top of mind! The blue makeup makes the girls eyes pop plus it is so pretty!

Blue wins!

I'm impressed, I was one of those who was afraid of blue shadow and the "Mimi" effect, but seeing how it adds that little punch of color to every one of these looks makes me want to give it a try. I especially like Tammy's look but they all look great!

I'm really surprised at how the blue liner makes all of their eyes really stand out! I think I might try this look out today for myself! I really like the look done with the Sephora lliner.

Definitely like the blue hue for eyes - and this really shows how it can work with various skin tones and eye colours/shapes - the key is knowing which shade of blue works best for you.

I am actually surprised of the results, but would this work well on all eyes colors? My eyes are green-hazel, can I pull that off?

The blue eyed look is fun for summer. The ladies all look lovely. I think the key for blue makeup is to use it as a pop of colour so that it doesnt look too overdone.
