Makeup Transformation: White Eyes and Nude Lips
Have you ever noticed that runway makeup looks great on the runway, but doesn't really apply to real life? We copied Alexander McQueen's beauty look for his Fall/Winter ready to wear collection. His white eye liner and nude lips make the models look ghostly and also a little ethereal. How do you think it looks on us?
Jenni usually wears her black cat eye liner to the office. Her nude lips blend well, but we think it would look a little better with a smokey eye.
Alexandra wasn't a fan of her white eye shadow and liner. But you can't deny, the white in the inner corners brighten up her eyes.
Tasha's white eye shadow was hard to see, unless she looks away from the camera. We like that her nude lips still have a hint of pink. But she thinks the white eyes should be balanced by a bold red-orange lip.
Tammy's white eye liner makes her eyes appear bigger, while her nude lip stick makes her full lips disappear. Don't ask why, but when we did her makeup we thought Tammy reminded us of the Asian Ganguro makeup trend.
What do you think of our runway inspired look? Let us know before August 21st for a chance to win a prize.

I thought it was too washed out!

I think it looks great on Alexandra but it kinda washes all the other girls out. I'm a fan of the smoky eye with a nude lip.

Not a fan of this particular look, never have been, although I always brighten the corners of my eyes and like using nude colors on my lips, especially when I really do my eyes up with deeper colors like forest greens, deep plums, rusty browns, etc, which is fairly often. I also always line my waterlines with my NYX shimmery, fat shadow pencils - either in Yogurt which is kind of a shimmery nude color, or in Cottage Cheese which is a shimmery white color - to brighten up my eyes. Never ever with a matte white pencil, though, such as NYX fat shadow stick in Milk. It makes the eyes bug out unnaturally, starkly. Crack-headish looking-ly. Not the way I want to be walking around. Eyes can be highlighted using nude or white colors without looking like a circus freak, depending on the shade. Although, none of the ChickAdvisor employees look like circus freaks LOL just saying :-) I don't particularly like what it does for any of their eyes, though. Not attractive. My favorite of all of theirs above, if I had to choose one, would have to be Tasha because it's not very noticeable. My next favorite would be Alexandra because it seems like it's only on the top lid, not the bottom, although it's pulled a tad too far into the inner corners of her eyes. When both upper and lower lids are done, it doesn't look good at all. Sorry, Tammy and Jenni :-) All look far better with black liner, although flat black is not my favorite either and rarely something I wear alone. If using flat black MAC Fluidline or another gel-type liner, I always smudge a very deep, shimmery brown, blackened green or blackened/deep navy blue over top. It still looks very smokey and dark, but without looking stark and bleak.
I don't think the white eye-liner would work for me, but for others, it looks great. But the nude lips, I would totally do because I like to keep it simple.
I think it worked best for Tammy and Alexandra as it played well on their skin tones. It made them look softer and more approachable. Skin tone and lighting should definitely be put into top consideration when applying make up. Not to say it didn't work for the rest, but any makeup trend that you apply should really be a value add. Otherwise, what's the point?
I don't like this look on any of them... but I think if the lip wasn't so nude it would be nice and if the white was only in the corners and/or the lower waterline that would look more flattering.
No....... no... not that it's bad, just isn't the best -- However, on Alexandra it looks great.. maybe it only suits certain faces...
