Makeup Transformations: I Spy Cat Eye Liner

In honour of the late and great Amy Winehouse we’re tried out her signature winged eye liner style. While Amy’s eye makeup was bold, occasionally messy and paired with a beehive hairdo, when used in moderation the cat eye liner is a sassy way to draw attention to your eyes.

Jenni is the master of winged eye liner in these parts. She used Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eye Liner to create this eye-catching look on all the ChickStaff. Jenni also rimmed her waterline in the black liner with an angle brush to make the whites of her eyes look even more white.

Tammy was the model for our tutorial on how to created a winged eye. On Tammy, Jenni went for added drama by adding the second wing underneath her eyes.

Michelle usually keeps her makeup to a minimum, not that she needs much anyway. But the cat  eye liner a la Winehouse draws attention to her pretty green eyes

Tasha's already an eye liner aficionado but the the extra large winged liner makes her eyes look a lot bigger than she knows them to be.  Her deep set eyes tend to hide her dark liner, but there's no hiding a line like that.

Alexanrda's pretty brown eyes stand out on their own accord. She lined the top of her eyes but left the bottom makeup free. The result is a fresh, pretty and daytime appropriate look.

I would love to find an Adele look that looks good, so far every one I've found seems slightly off.

I wish I could get down the gorgeous cat-eye look that Sophia Loren used to wear in the 'seventies. I've never seen anyone else quite duplicate it! Maybe you just had to actually BE Sophia to really rock it.....

I don't mind this technique but I think it's more of a night-out look. It adds a little flare but it can definitely be over done and I think the rest of your makeup should be fairly basic. But I don't think it's terrible! I wear it out every once in a while!
But please, please PLEASE... Skip the behive!
JMO :)
