Maxi and Midi Dresses Street Style- Pick Your Favourite to Win!
This week while shooting street style, I came across a whole whack of different styles and interpretations of trends. Here we have boho chic done in a vintage 70's way, a floral print in a fresh perspective, and summer linens in a fabulously cut dress! All these three ladies- Siobhan, Steph and Sarah, look awesome and their individuality is what we're celebrating this week!
Siobhan exemplifies cute and adorable to a T here! Her floral dress is a great interpretation of last summer's trend and the large print makes it a fresh statement. She pulls off the headband a la Gossip Girl and keeps it simple with her make up making the dress pop. What takes the dress from cute to very cute though, are the details. Details make any piece interesting, fun and create a 'put together' outfit. The ribbon-like neckline, small puff sleeves and the cut-out in the back are feminine and funky at the same time. I also love Siobhan's simple, leather cross body bag. We've had so many street style ladies with these types of bags and they always look great because they are all-purpose and go with almost everything!
I love Steph's outfit for three reasons: a. Texture b. Colour and c. Her shoes. Steph's dress, made out of a linen, is a great piece for summer. She balances out the roughness of the fabric and avoids looking too boho by adding metallic accessories like her feather necklace. The cut of the dress is also fabulous - this looks good on pretty much anyone! The nipped-in waist creates and accentuates her curves. Steph's shoes are a clog inspired sandal. The natural wood balanced against the metal buckles looks modern and the canvas continues the theme of her dress.
Sarah is also interpreting last summer's major floral trend in a new way. Her maxi dress takes a vintage approach with muted 70's colours like mustard yellow and pink. I love that the cut and style of her dress is unique - not something you'd see everyday. Sarah mixes her dress with an awesome large seashell ring- we've been having some amazing rings lately on street style! This ring wouldn't be out of place on a vintage 60's outfit or even a CEO power suit. It's sophisticated and fun at the same time. Simple, strappy sandals and a fringed bag pull the outfit together.
When it comes down to it though - this is a competition and we need to know, which stylish lady do you think did the best job with her outfit?
