My Pregnancy Diet (a confession)
Before I say anything that might get you supermoms out there all judgey on me, let me just start with this disclaimer: I am a very healthy person. I am. Before Baby, I wouldn't touch a french fry. Or anything with too much sugar, too much salt, anything artificial and certainly not anything with hydrogenated oils and other evils in it. I was the nerd at the grocery store reading the nutritional label on everything I put into my cart. Which was mostly vegetables and fruit. Pinky swear!
Now that I'm 'glowing and growing' (we'll call it Getting Fat) my diet has somewhat changed. It actually scares me a little to write it down, but here I'm doing it for the benefit of those who haven't yet been pregnant but have been lied to by women who have had babies and forgotten that they too scarfed down a box of donuts on occasion while under the throes of hormonal imbalance.
Behold my GF diet:
Breakfast:
Toaster Waffles - 4ish with cottage cheese and maple syrup and sometimes also jam.
2nd Breakfast:
Chocolate Croissant. And also a chocolate chip muffin.
Snack before lunch:
Latte. To stave off the hunger pains I already feel at this point
Lunch:
Pasta, salad and possibly some Reese Peanut Butter Cups. Mmmmm!
2nd Lunch:
A sandwich and/or another croissant. Or like yesterday, 2 donuts.
Getting home snack:
1 or 2 Grapefruits (I'm obsessed with them)
Sitting on the couch waiting for someone to feed me snack:
More Reese Peanut Butter Cups. Mmmm!
Dinner:
Whatever my Baby Daddy made me that my stomach can handle since nearly all smells gross me out. It's usually chicken.
Dessert:
Chocolate ice cream
Bed time snack:
Bowl of cereal
I've started seeing a Naturopath and she wants to me share this list with her but I fear her judgment so I might have to lie a little. Which part should I leave out?
XO, Mommy-to-be
