My Year in Review: What Was Awesome & What Sucked
2010 was a banner year for me. Not just because of what happened, but also because of what didn’t. So what’s the best way to summarize 365 days? With words, numbers, and a few pictures - obviously.
1
- baby squirrel narrowly escaped being caught with my bare hands
- friend who gave birth to a little human of her own
- brother who got married
- brother who got engaged the next day (a trend?)
- life goal achieved this year
2
- moments that resulted in huge life breakthroughs (at least for like a month or so)
- pounds in a XXL bag of M&Ms (I will not reveal how many of these bags I have consumed)
- times my father texted me
- times I attempted to bring my dog-roommate to work
3
- apartments I lived in
- times I spit something through my nose while in the presence of a man I liked
4
- the size of the jeans I purchased in a fit of body dysmorphia that will never fit me in a million years. Luckily, I ordered three pairs, so they can keep each other company in the back of my closet
- iPhones destroyed by my clumsiness (butter fingers!)
11
- pounds gained since my return to the Midwest, where being a little juicy is always in
13
- men that USWeekly would accuse me of being “linked to romantically” if I were a celebrity (not to be confused with the number of men who were worth being “linked to romantically”, which is closer to 1)
8
- times my BFF picked up the phone only to hear me sob incomprehensibly about something that I would later describe as “so not a big deal”
Vina Nora Albarino
12
- the price of my new favorite (and eponymous) wine
386
- times I’ve listened to Robyn’s “Hang With Me”, part of my current life soundtrack
25
- the cost of one priceless life coaching session that completely changed my world
27
- books I’ve read or re-read (because I do that, sometimes)
28
- the first birthday where I didn’t cry, not even once!
