Never Make These Beauty Mistakes Again

The other day I came across this blog. It shows just how impactful makeup can be. The woman in the photos below is the same woman! How incredibly different does she look in each picture?

On the left side, she appears older and tired. On the right side, she looks more youthful and awake. Is it just me, or does she just generally look happier?

On the left, the model has made a few beauty blunders that don't seem to major but actually make a huge difference. Fortunately, they're easily solved:

1. Lifeless Hair: Flat hair drags you down, especially on your second day after washing: add volume and life to your hair with dry shampoo if needed, or try volume adding products.

Try these:

Marc Anthony Oil Of Morocco Volumizing Mousse (C$10.99)

John Frieda Luxurious Volume Anytime Volume Refresher (C$11.99)

2. Brows: Brows frame the eyes and face and when they are too light or too thin, they not only make you look older but can change the look of your facial structure.

Try this:

Anatasia Brow Pen Long Wearing Brow Tint (C$27.00)

Urban Decay Brow Box (C$35.00)

3. Eyes: Too much glitter settles into fine lines and too light of a colour doesn't give any definition or bring focus to the eyes. Softly define them with a brown liner or a shadow and angle brush. For a dramatic look, use a black liner and always give a generous coat of mascara to make your eyes appear bigger.

Try these:

Tarte Call Of The Wild Amazonian Clay 8-Shadow Collector's Palette (C$47.00)

CoverGirl Clump Crusher Mascara (C$6.99)

4. Contouring Cheeks: Blush adds life and a healthy glow to your face. Blush, along with bronzer, also help to contour and define your features.

Try these:

Bronzed & Poreless Poreless Pore Perfecting Bronzer (C$38.00)

Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelée (C$29.00)

6. Lips: Lips need some colour and life!

Try these:

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter (C$8.10)

L'Oreal Colour Riche Colour Caresse Wet Shine Lip Stain (US$6.98)

6. Skin: There's a point of diminishing return with foundation where you don't see your skin, just cakey makeup. Let your skin breathe with a lighter foundation and concealer combo or a BB cream. Also, dry skin lets makeup settle into your lines and creases. Makeup looks better on moisturized, smooth skin.

Try these:

Bioderma Cicabio Crème (C$20.00)

Bobbi Brown Extra Soothing Balm (C$58.00)

Philosophy Take a Deep Breath SPF 30 (C$34.00)

La Roche Posay Hydraphase Intense Mask (C$33.00)

La Roche Posay Hydreane BB Cream (C$29.00)

Benefit Fake Up Concealer (C$29.00)

Fess up! Do you make any of these mistakes?

The left picture looks as if she doesn't have any bottom eye lashes at all, scary. I must agree, the second picture looks so much better. She DOES look more youthful in that one.

My hair was long and straight just like her hair is in the first pic for years, that is until yesterday. After 20 years I finally had enough and cut half of it off. Now I just need to find away to style it right.
