What do viper venom, broccoli extract and french water have in common? They're all ingredients in the new* skin creams for 2011 promising to give you youthful and healthy-looking skin.

Under $50

1. L'Oreal Skin Expertise Youth Code CDN$29.99 / US$20.68
This day and night cream is part of a line designed to increase the recovering power of the skin by retaining moisture and infusing it with Adenosine (an anti-wrinkle ingredient).

2. La Roche-Posay Toleriane Ultra US$34.95
The patent pending pump keeps the formula sealed, keeping active ingredients uncontaminated and increasing effectiveness. The formula is designed to be gentle even for hypersensative skin, free from all alcohols, fragrances and preservatives.

Under $100

3. BioTherm Skin-Ergetic CDN$58
The sulforaphane-rich broccoli extract (the magic ingredient - an antioxidant) is unstable when added to a formula, so the innovative bottle keeps it isolated until right before your first application and then maintains stability for up to 3 months.

4. bareMinerals Pure Transformation Night Treatment US$60
This night cream promises to dramatically reduce pores, increase luminosity and promote faster cell turnover. The cream comes in 4 tones to help instantly diffuse imperfections.

I am a big fan of Biotherm products as they work really well for my skin. I haven't found a line of creams that is lighter and feels more luxurious on my skin than Biotherm. One main issue I have with the brand is that it is not a company that has completely taken out animal testing, and this is a big turn off for me. With that said, this is not the only brand guilty of that, there are thousands; I just hope they can start having a completely animal-testing-free company, because their products are really great!

I haven't had that experience becky, I'll let ya know if I hear anything about possible causes/ ways to fix is. I really want to try the youth code as well, it's suppose to basically turn back the aging clock - pretty cool if it works that well!

I also wouldn't mind trying the glamoxy, the ingredients intrigue me!

I'm currently using Neostrata 4% glycolic, and it leaves my face looking extremely clean and bright. The only thing is, I'm noticing tiny pores right under my under-eye area. I don't have visible pores to begin with (I didn't know what pores were until a friend pointed them out on someone elses face), so these tiny pores are sort of freaking me out! I'm exfoliating well, I use my clarisonic and the results are good. But I notice when I put Neostrata on, after a few hours the pores appear. Anyone else ever have this experience?

Out of the creams mentioned I really want to try YouthCode. Same makers as Lancome genefique! Definitely worth a try..
