Why do we love “new car smell”? Because it’s the smell we associate before pets, before spilled drive-thru takeout, before a roadtrip with your bean-burrito-eating boyfriend.

Truth is, no one wants to travel long distances in a car that stinks. I don’t even want to go on a quick grocery run if I haven’t given my car a thorough mucking out (I have kids, remember?
