Nicole Scherzinger Covers Adele
At a private Hugo Boss party in Monte Carlo (yeah, we didn't get an invite either) Nicole Scherzinger took on Adele's "Rolling In The Deep." As Adele lovers we wanted to shout blasphemy that a Pussycat Doll would dare sing such a deeply emotional song and worried that there would be some sort of chair dance friendly beat inserted in so attendees could dance. After watching the video below, we've been silenced. We knew Scherzinger had singing chops, but she doesn't just go through the motions on this one, she puts in the heart and the hurt that Adele does on the original.
Are you a fan of the original Adele version? Can you get on board with Scherzinger's version like us?

@ jskim - HAHAHA now that you've mentioned it, it does look like she's in pain. But I guess one could argue it is because she is singing with deep passion and her emotions are showing through on her face.
Nicole looks like she's in pain...but it's really good! Especially for a live version, and this song looks really hard to follow. Of course, Adele's version has so much more intonation to it....
I think Nichole did an amazing job. She's a very talented singer who is often overlooked by her pussycat doll days. Although Adele's 21 is by far one of the best albums I have ever heard and she is a very talented singer, it is refreshing to hear another take on such a deep song.
This song is really good for Nicole's voice which is why I think Nicole did so well with this song. Great job though! I was kind of surprised at how good she covered Adele's song. |
