No, All Beauty Bars are Not Created Equal (and other regrettable beauty decisions I’ve made)

Most of us are creatures of habit when it comes to our basic personal care supplies.  We don’t think twice about grabbing the same toothpaste, paper towel, or bar soap off the store shelf every time – if it ain’t broke why fix it, right?  (Now makeup is a different story, but that’s not what we’re talking about today!)

Confession: that’s part of the reason I spent every summer of my teen years basting myself in baby oil to get that perfect deep orange tan going.  Everyone knew it worked wonders, so why question a good thing?  (Time for a quick PSA– tanning with baby oil is a stupid idea.  Moving on.)

Years later when I was all grown up and paying for things myself, I started trying different products While Under The Influence Of Christian Slater’s Hotness (that is, whichever brand he had posed with in the latest magazine ad).  Fess up! You know you’ve done that too, although maybe for David Beckham or Shemar Moore or someone more … not from the early 1990s.

I eventually settled on a certain bath bar for its great price and portability (no FAA regulations against bar soap in your carry-on luggage!  No messy spills in your suitcase! But I digress…).  I bought that same beauty bar for years until I received a sample of the classic Dove Beauty Bar from the Dove team to try last year.  Honestly, that bar went untouched for a looooong time because I was perfectly content using up the value pack of my usual brand first.

So finally we arrived at the day when I pulled out the Dove bar, and quite without any major expectations whatsoever started using it.  Girlfriends, this bar is different.  I’m willing to admit I was wrong, even if Brad Pitt (in his Legends of the Fall days) didn’t sell it to me himself.

I could go on and on about how wonderful my skin feels, how surprising it was to feel pampered by a bar of soap, but you know what?  I know you won’t really believe it until you try it out yourself.  I’m going to challenge you to take a chance and try Dove next time instead of your usual brand!

Have you tried Dove Beauty Bar?  Are you still holding a torch for Christian Slater? (just think Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and then let’s talk)

Psst—stay tuned to ChickAdvisor for even more exciting news from Dove coming soon!

You are so funny Claire!!
I've used nothing but the Dove beauty bar for
years. My grandma used nothing but Dove and when she pasted away at 87
she looked like she was in her sixties! I'm pretty sure that was what
she washed her face with back then too. Dove products are great!! I'm
happy to see you finally joined the Dove club.LOL
