Outerwear in New York: Fashion Week Trends for F/W 2011
Designers at New York Fashion Week brought back the hot looks in outerwear from 2010 into Fall/Winter 2011:
Oversized Blazers
Many collections were clearly menswear-influenced, oversized blazers replaced cropped jackets and typical trenches.
Yigal Azrouel, DKNY
Steven Alan (both)
Ponchos & Capes
The slip-over coverups were embellished with fur, fringe and zipper details.
Rag & Bone, Milly, Rebecca Minkoff
Duro Olowu, Jenkao
Fur
Controversial though it may be, fur is looking like a staple for Fall/Winter once again.
Doo.ri, Kelly Wearstler
Christian Cota, Adam
Cozy Accessory: Hooded Scarves
Worn with a coat or as a warm topper for day or evening wear, designers want you to keep those circle scarves in your wardrobe for another year at least.
Victoria Beckham, Donna Karan, Carlos Miele
Zero + Maria Cornejo, Chado Ralph Rucci
Which trends are you happy to see returning for Fall/Winter 2011?

Absolutely loved the Rebecca Minkoff show. All the clothing was stunning- the materials and construction was fabulous and everything was very wearable! |
