Paris Fall Street Fashion
With cooler weather come more luxurious fabrics, a richer palette of colors and an opportunity to be creative with your wardrobe. Autumn in Paris is definitely no exception. With temperatures rarely reaching below freezing during its ‘winter’ months, this city is the epitome of dressing for warmth while still maintaining an exceeding amount of style.
Short knit dresses and denim shorts paired with leggings in regular sheer black, shiny leather or in a variety of colors and patterns is clearly a major trend.
Vintage ankle boots, thigh-high dominatrix style boots, cowboy inspired boots – Boots! (Even on the men! … although, worn with jeans and not short knit dresses.)
To keep the cold breeze at bay like a bad blind date – jackets in soft furs, genuine leather and thick knits. Scarves safeguard necks and bare chests, while cropped gloves protect hands from the cold grasp of Fall’s lingering hand.
Colors are both subdued and bravely bold. While there is a vast amount of black, an entirely black outfit is rare. Pops of color highlight bags, jackets, shoes and often the small details on ones clothing – a shirt collar, the inside trim of a cardigan, or the design stitched on a dress.
Walking around in Paris during these past months has been refreshing and an incredibly welcome change from the cold winter days that most North Americans must endure. Here you can wear suede shoes without the fear of salt ruining the material; you can walk around and actually see the city rather than just the tip of your pink nose as you bury your face into a thick scarf. What’s even better is that most of the clothing you had from the summer months will easily transition into the fall.
Much of what you see here will be enough to keep even we North Americans cozy for the majority of our winter days. So please, go stimulate the economy and buy a pair of boots – and a jacket, scarf, tights, dresses...
