Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2011 Pics and Trends

Rich colours, asymmetrical designs, gathers, pleats and panels dominated the runways this year at Paris Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2011.

John Galliano, Junya Watanabe, Tsumori Chisato

Many designers took inspiration from the classic “sailor” look and illustrated a nautical theme in their work.

Balenciaga, Celine, Costume National

Electric blue was a popular colour—we saw everything from dresses to jumpsuits in this vivid shade.

Nina Ricci, Anne Valerie Hash, A.F. Vandevorst

Rich grey hues made an impact on the runway, in sparkling silver and metallic tints with embellishments and ruffles galore.

Chloe, Lanvin, Zac Posen

Many models were seen donning one-shoulder gowns with fitted bodices and a mixture of structured and flowy skirts.

Azzaro, Barbara Bui, Issey Miyake

Deep V-necks and fabric overlaps... could this mean the wrap dress is making a comeback?

Which Spring trend are you most excited to shop for?

I love the one-shoulder look. It always makes me feel a bit like Wilma Flintstone.

The electric blue is AMAZING. I'm very impressed with Paris this year...the one shoulder Chloe and Zac Posen dresses are incredible (though both designers never disappoint me in the dress department) and I would absolutely wear the Azzaro polka dot wrap.

I love the soft grays, though I think not everyone can pull it off. On some people it looks rather sickly, but on others it is simply stunning!
