Posing Wall: Meet Lauren

Hi all! I'm Lauren, a new ChickAdvisor intern.

I am a student at the University of Waterloo working toward an Arts and Business Degree with a major in Legal Studies and an interest in Marketing. I've recently relocated to Toronto for the next few months and am excited to be part of the ChickAdvisor team. I understand there's a Posing Wall?

I've always been a poser: even as a 5 year old I always had to strike a pose when the camera came out.

I just became engaged at the beginning of December to my wonderful fiance Mike, so 2011 will be a year of change, preparation and growth for me. Planning, daydreaming and some serious working out is on the agenda (got to get wedding-dress ready!).

I love to talk and test mascara and hair care, while on the fashion side of things I think of myself as classic with a touch of flirtiness and fun. I am very happy to dress up for work every day - it's a big change from the university student uniform of yoga pants, Uggs and a ponytail (plus I have an excuse to wear all of my high heels that have been seriously neglected over the past semester).

The necklace was a gift from Mike's mom this Christmas - inside the locket are pictures of Mike and me.

After a fun date to St Jacobs in Kitchener I started bugging him to buy me one of those plush animal head hats (the kind that look like teddy bears on your head and the sides come all the way down to form mittens that look like paws). I had been asking for one of these for a few weeks joking about how cute I would look in one, when he told me he had bought me something and asked if we could go for an early morning walk that Saturday morning. I agreed. That Saturday we walked through Victoria park and after a little while we stopped in the middle of the park where there is a large canon memorial, I climbed the steps of the memorial and when I turned around to face him he had his coat unzipped and this panda bear hat sticking out from the chest of his jacket. I got really excited and put it on to show him just how cute I looked. That's when he said "Aren't you going to put your hands in the mitts?" I put my hands in the mitts and there was a little purple box inside the right paw. I pulled it out and opened it and that's when he asked me to marry him :)
