Pre-Fall 2013 Trends + 8 Celebrities We'd Like To See In Them
I can't be the only person who plays stylist on the bus, right? I love to makeover people, even if it is an imaginary game I play in my head. I especially love to critique celebrities (just read any Yay or Nay if you have a doubt).
The Pre- Fall collections are currently being shown from some top designers and this gives a great sneak peek into what trends we can expect to see in the coming year and what trends we can keep in our closets from this year.
I thought I would bring these two together in a little imaginary styling to figure out what will be trending for fall 2013 and which celebs should be wearing them!
Alexander Wang Pre-Fall 2013
The Trends: leather detailing, texture and patterns, monochrome and draping
The Celeb: Tilda Swinton
(images via fashionologie.com, justjared.com)
I'm fairly certain that Tilda Swinton, with her slim, boyish figure and androgynous features is the only person in the world who can pull off this collection. For the rest of us, interpret this trend by finding pieces with leather panelling, playing around with shapes and trying on a chunky heel sandal.
Jason Wu Pre-Fall 2013
The Trends: emerald, oxblood, leather, chevrons, sheer
The Celeb: Kristen Stewart
(images via fashionologie.com, huffingtonpost.com, imabeautygeek.com)
Kristen has been hit or miss recently with her fashion choices. So I think we need to put her in some really over the top, sophisticated outfits that are still edgy to show off some attitude. I'd like to see her looking pulled together and sleek.
Michael Kors Pre-Fall 2013
The Trends: Florals, emerald and green, pinks, full skirts, trousers, 50's inspired
The Celeb: Taylor Swift
(images via fashionologie.com, justjared.com, hollywoodreporter.com)
Taylor has been knocking it out of the park lately with a slew of sweet and adorable outfits with a nod to mod. Continuing that trend, I'd love to see her work any of these Michael Kors outfits. I think her colouring and personality would fit them perfectly.
J. Mendel Pre-Fall 2013
The Trends: oxblood, emerald, textures (feather and fur) and prints
The Celeb: Jessica Biel
(images via wwd.com, justjared.com, stylenoted.com)
I gave Jessica some heat for trying too hard to work an edgy outfit. So to give her a break, I decided to put her in this dark and brooding collection. Though it's romantic, it's also very grown up and it's a mix of trendy and classic. I think it will completely shed that 7th Heaven image.
Narciso Rodriguez Pre-Fall 2013
The Trends: leather, oxblood, orange and red, colour blocking, prints
The Celeb: Anne Hathaway
(images via fashionologie.com, askmen.com)
I'm not sure if you've noticed but Anne has been pulling out all the couture stops for her press trips for Les Mis. I love a good gown as much as the next girl, but I think she deserves a break - I'm digging these more casual pieces. The cuts are made for her petite, straight frame. Taking inspiration from her last Tom Ford bondage-esque shoes, I thought this leather heavy collection would suit her.
Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2013
The Trends: polka dots, jewel tones, emerald, full skirts, peplum, 50's inspired, texture, patterns
The Celeb: Kate Winslet
(images via style.com, justjared.com, movies.yahoo.com)
With Kate's amazing curves, she would look killer in this collection of full skirts and cinched waist lines. Jewel tones look incredible with her eyes and a peplum to accentuate that figure is an excellent option.
Prabal Gurung Pre-Fall 2013
The Trends: prints and patterns, colour blocking, jewel tones, pinks and emeralds, full skirts, sheer, floral
The Celeb: Solange Knowles
(images via vogue.com, sheknows.ca, blog.babble.com)
You must all know by now that Solange Knowles is my pretend BFF and I love her cute, funky style. She does a fabulous job of mixing and matching when it comes to colours and patterns and this is right up her alley. I wasn't a huge fan of her latest red carpet dress and I think the vibrant florals on these two dresses would be far more gorgeous.
Tory Burch Pre-Fall 2013
The Trends: prints and patterns, textures (wools, felts, furs), jewel tones and neutrals, boho influence
The Celebrity: Fanning Sisters
(images via vogue.com, millionlooks.com)
Dakota and Elle Fanning, or as I like to call them, The Fanning Sisters, have quirky styles. I think they'd like this collection with it's prints and traditional/bohemian influence. They're young and vibrant ladies, so I didn't want to put them in anything too stuffy. At the same time, I think this line has the exact amount of maturity for them.
Which one of these collections is your favourite? Which one would you most likely wear?

I am very excited seeing these trends for the New Year! I love jewel tones and emeralds! My fave colour is pink in any case. Polka dots are the perfect trend that can be formal and informal. Colour blocking is just an amazing way to mix up colours and textures. I can't wait until I can jump on these trends next Autumn! Let us know what Spring and Summer looks like. Happy holidays my pretties!

@ midnightsun - Who would you pick for the Oscar de la Renta? I think maybe Katie Holmes or Marisa Tomei!
not loving all the leather dresses in narcisco rodriguez...reminds me of the matrix
I think this list is spot on! I especially love the one for Solange Knowles (I would wear those outfits myself). The only one I am not that sure about is Kate Winslet, I can't really picture her in most of those outfits.
