Review of the Week: Primer (Nov 5-11)

Posted by ChickAdvisor Team | Monday November 5, 20128 comments

Before you bake a cake, you need to pre-heat the oven. Before you paint a wall, you need to prime it. Beauty is no different! Great makeup starts with your skin and part of a flawless foundation routine should be primer.

Primer helps your foundation last longer, prevents caking and creasing and also allows your foundation to slide on smoothly. It's a must-have in any makeup bag so it's essential that you find one that works for you. This week when you review a primer, you will be entered to win a prize!

The more reviews you add the better your chances are of winning. If you already have a primer in mind to review, then head on over here and add it! Or look through our list of existing reviews for some inspiration over here

Remember, you need to be a ChickAdvisor member to review, but it's super easy and fun (and free!) to become one. Just click here to register.

Good luck chicks!

I've only started using primer two days ago because I got some in my beautyarmy kit. I have to say, I love the idea but I don't think this primer is for me. I can't remember the name but even though it felt so nice going on I felt awkward putting foundation on top of it. Who knows, maybe I'm just not doing it right. Later in the day I notice a small bit of caking effect which is always super bad.

I'm still a Primer 'Virgin.' The Almay one or even the CoverGirl & Olay Primers might be ones I would give a try - but they are expensive, and since they are not part of my routine, I would hate to waste money on a product I'm not sure I would use.

I never tried primer before until this year & i love it. I cant believe i haven't used it before . Now when I wear primer under my makeup i never break out anymore or get any zits. It just gives a nicer finish & glow to your complexion. So i love it. The name of the primers im using now are -
- HD High Definition Primer from Sephora
-Primer from Clinque (pore refining solution)

I have been experimenting with primer recently and to be honest, I don't feel it to be essential. My makeup looks the exact same at the end of the night, with or without it!

What do you ladies think?
