Satin Pants: Sexy Right or Wrinkly Wrong?
Pajama dressing isn't a new idea—designers trot out satin pants every few seasons. They feature soft and slinky fabrics in comfortable, loose shapes that look amazing on models lithe frames striding down a catwalk. While these pants look easy and breezy, we can't help but think how many wrinkles will show up when actually wearing them. These are definitely not your sit at dinner, or in a car, or sans air conditioning type of look.
Walking along a red carpet like Angelina? No problem we're sure—but we didn't see any pictures of her after the movie. Getting shot by paparazzi on a city street? A breeze if you're freshly-pressed like Drew.

But what about all the satin trousers on the runway for Spring 2011? Would you think of wearing any of these, or similar styles? Or is the wrinkle-maintenance too much?

I don't like the look of it, honestly. Looks like PJ bottoms. Angelina Jolie pulls it off though, but the rest are kind of a fail to me.
I just bought a pair of satin shorts tonight! So I'm all for the satin bottom trend! :)
OOPS that was weird, I just meant to say they look like pajama pants! lol
Rochas is a bit dumb, but otherwise i like this look, i remember thinking harem pants were absurd until i accidentally tried a pair on at Joe Fresh. Best $20 I ever spent. Or is it because I'm living in sweats these days....
Emma Roberts' pants already look a little wrinkled, and in my opinion they still look great (well at least from the front). I don't think Angelina's pants would look good with any sort of funky crease, so maybe it depends on the style?
I think if all you plan on doing is standing, these look great. But who lives like that?
No, Sisters. Just no. | |
I looooove Drew's look here!
The celebs look fantastic in this trend! How have I never taken note of it before? I`ll definitely keep my eyes out for a pair of these on sale. In theory I love them, but they might turn out to be one of those items that stays in the back of the closet. |
