Sex and the City 2 Reviews
Millions of women will be throwing back cosmos with their girlfriends in their cutest outfits tonight, as they have a girls' night to watch Sex and the City 2... but the reviews don't sound as fun.
The New York Times said there is no storyline left for these four Manhattan girls. Everyone already had their happy ending in the first movie. Charlotte has two kids, and one is biological. Miranda and Steve are back together. Samantha is, once again, single and promiscuous. And Carrie is married to BIG. Where's the drama?
And where's Manhattan? The movie takes place in Abu Dhabi, far far away from the streets of New York that the series is known for.
Not only are they in a different city, but the characters themselves are different people. Newsweek said Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda are no longer identifiable for their audience. The show was based on four girlfriends that shared their trials and tribulations of "singlehood" with each other. They laughed, cried, and argued the same way we do with our girlfriends.
How many of you are able to drop everything and head to the Middle East for a week, just to get away from all your drama?
However, The Globe&Mail is right. Storyline or not... we'll all still watch the movie for the fashion.
At the end of the day, if you loved the series like I did, then these four characters have become your girlfriends. Even when your girlfriends' lives are boring, you stick by them and listen to their problems.
Bad reviews and all, will you still be watching Sex and the City 2 tonight?
