Since When is Mark's Work Warehouse Cool?

Have you been to Mark's Work Warehouse recently?  You might be surprised.  Shocked is probably a better word.

In the past this is not a store I'd consider shopping at unless I was planning on doing some renos or yard work (which would require me to have a house and/or a yard - of which, I possess neither).  Alternatively, if I needed a gift for a lumberjack Marks would be top of my list.

I'd heard some positive comments about them lately, and then on a recent trip to Winnipeg my Mother lent me a gorgeous scarf that she bought there for $10.  So, when an invite to attend a media preview of their fall collection arrived in my inbox I had to check it out.

I was completely gobsmacked to see they carry stuff like this:

And like this!

These cozy, ultra soft sweaters can be tossed in the dryer without consequence.  What?! Since when?

And then there are these comfy yet chic leather boots...

...that are mud and water resistant, as they so cleverly demonstrated.  I don't know about you, but I need a pair of these for fall.

Would you wear any of this?  Does this change your opinion of Mark's?

A friend of mind started working her winters at Marks last year. One day my husband said he wanted to go see her and see what she had for him for his hunting trip. Well did I get a surprise when I walked in the store with him. They had tons of great looking closes for women that I had no idea they even carried and the prices weren't out of this world either. I'm not sure about in other city's but in mind they sometimes send you a $10 gift card along with they're store add in the mail. I believe you have to spend so much to use the card, but how many other stores do you know that will do that? I love the jacket in the first picture and the boots. It reminded me that I need to get over there and buy a new coat for fall. So if anyone's looking for me that's where I'll be. LOL

Those accessories are amazing. I'm in love with all of the necklaces.

Mark's has forever been the store where my Dad gets his clothes and I've never bothered to look around. I'm amazed at their fall collection.

I know, right?? I was quite pleasantly surprised.

There were many things I wanted to add to my own wardrobe and the prices are sooo reasonable.

Mamaluv, the chef hat was them being cute. It was a really interactive fashion show where they let the audience feel the clothes, let us spray them with waterguns to demonstrate the water repellent hoodies (also so awesome) and then they mixed up the muddy water for the boots demonstration, which is why they wore the toques.

But um, what's with the chef toques?

Wow, I agree! I would never have thought to go to Mark's, but my opinion is now officially changed. I love how practical everything is - no sacrificing on the one reason I would have shopped there in the past.

Uhm, wow! I'm a little shocked I must say! I am in love with the leather jacket in the first pic, and the dryer friendly sweater? OMG. AND the boots ... wow! I want all of it ha ha (and might I add that the prospect of fall shopping is sort of easing the pain of the end of summer being right around the corner...)
