Six Celebs Whose Bangs We Love
The start of a new season brings new shoes, a make up refresh (like switching to a tinted moisturizer from a heavier foundation formula), and for many of us a longing for a new hairstyle. If you’re looking to update your cut for spring why not try bangs? It's a quick change without having to alter your hair's general length, and it really makes an impact. Check out some of the bangs celebs are rockin’ below. There's some seriously hot fringe.
Hilary Duff: Long and layered
After announcing on her twitter feed "new moon... new me" fans responded with all kinds of support for the Duff's new 'do. We also love the ombre colour and the extra dimension it adds to the sexiness of this look.
Sandra Bullock: Full and blunt
Bullock turned heads when she walked the red carpet at the Golden Globes with this blunt fringe. You have to have super thick hair to pull off such a blunt bang, and also strong features or else the hair will overwhelm and you'll lose your face behind the curtain of hair.
Dianna Agron: Full and side-swept
Same cut, two styles, Agron's really got the side swept style down. Whether it's the textured and mussed sexier style seen at left and right, or the sweeter, high shine take in the centre, her face was made for a low-key updo.
Bella Thorne: Natural and Wavy
Barely 14 and Thorne is already sparking beauty trends. While her show Big Love has ended she's making sure to be the centre of attention at red carpet appearances, like the premier of "Mars Needs Moms" in March where she debuted a wavy set of bangs and loose curls.
Kate Moss: Long and Tousled
At a '70s inspired shoot for Longchamp Moss modeled a new set of bangs. While she's certainly no stranger to the style (or any hairstyle for that matter), these longer bangs blended in with a shaggier style cut make her look mysterious and worldly.
Emma Stone: Face Framers
New colour and a new cut: a double whammy at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party. While we miss her Easy A red shade, we're loving how fun this cut and colour looks on her, and the wispier bang is great for gals with fine hair.
Are you feeling inspired to try a new cut for Spring? Would you consider getting bangs?

How am I the only person to note that Emma Stone, who normally plays teenagers, looks FORTY OR OLDER in those photos?
I really really Hated Sandra Bullocks bangs. I agree with Ali. Bangs generally look better on those with lighter hair, because it doesn't weigh down as much and is not as dramatic. With that said, I have seen a few dark haired gals that have pulled off the blunt bangs look beautifully-- but there aren't that many that can! It requires the right face shape and wardrobe too!
I have bangs just like Dianna Agron as well. It goes well with my wavy'curly hair and keeps things low-key and laid back. Side swept are also great for a braid or fancy twist going around the side of my head when I just want them out of the way, but still look put together.
Around christmastime I had Sandra Bullock's bangs which were nice for the holidays but now that it's warming up I went for a more tousled look like Dianna Agron. I also chose to go from black to a multi-red to lighten it up for summer. It looks quite nice.
I think you can get away with heavier bangs in the colder months, but come May you need a lighter style or the hair will just stick to your forehead and look really flat. I really like Kate Moss's whole cut! It's so natural and beachy - totally ready for summer weather.
I have bangs exactly like Dianna Agron right now. I have a high forehead, so in general I find that bangs is more flattering on me than no bangs at all. However, I'm not brave enough to wear the blunt fringe so I'm always flipflopping between Dianna's and Hilary Duff's version of the cut.
I like Kate Moss and Dianna Agron's the best. I think the lighter hair colour makes the bangs feel less heavy. Sandra Bullock's was too much for me and unfortunately a lot of other people. Poor girl got a lot of flack for them. |
