Spring 2010 Makeup Trends

Spring makeup this year is the most experimental we've seen in awhile, banishing the smokey greys, blacks and browns of fall in favour of eye popping sea and sky inspired hues. Black liner is replaced with deep navy and go-to browns take a back seat to emerald green, royal blue and sapphire.
We recommend some of our favourite new and classic products for spring 2010:
Maybelline New York EyeStudio shadow quads
GOSH Effect Powder
GOSH Nail Polish
CoverGirl ShineBlast
QUO Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil
CoverGirl Lashblast Length
Nicole by OPI nail polish
MAC Blush Ombre
MAC Lipstick
The Body Shop Shimmer Cubes
MAC Eyeshadow mono
Lise Watier Lip Duo
OPI Dim Sum Plum & Suzy Says Feng Shui
Thierry Mugler Ombre Stellaire eye shadow
Lise Watier Palette
Lancome O My Rose eye quad
Clarins Eye Shadow & Liner Palette
Chanel Lumieres Facettes eye quad
Lancome O My Rose blush compact
CARGO Dare to Play Eye Kit
For the eyes, our ChickAdvisor H.Q. makeup maven, Mandy does a dramatic spring makeup application on Editorial Assistant, Julie-Anne.
Step 1: Apply Clarins Instant Smooth Foundation with a foundation brush only on areas needed - keeping a light canvas is key for the spring look. Apply a small amount of Benefit Stay Don’t Stray Primer onto lid and under eye. Lightly pat with ring finger to blend.
Step 2: Apply the lightest shade (champagne) of Maybelline EyeStudio in 'Green with Envy' all over your lids.
Step 3: Using a MAC 219 Pencil Brush, apply MAC eyeshadow in 'Birds & Berries' on the outer half of lid, extending a bit above the crease. Blend the edges for a smooth finish with MAC 217 Eye Shadow Blending Brush.
Step 4: Using a smaller brush apply MAC eyeshadow Birds & Berries on the outer half of your lower lash line.
Step 5: Using a smaller brush, darken outer corner with the darkest shade of Maybelline EyeStudio in Green with Envy to create more depth.
Step 6: Apply the light green shade from Maybelline EyeStudio in Green with Envy with MAC 239 Eye Shader Brush to the center of your lids. Blend.
Step 7: Apply MAC Blacktrack onto upper lash line. Dab onto the outer corner of lower lashline.
Step 8: Coat your top and bottom lashes with Marcelle Volume Precision Mascara
For a fun twist, add Shu Uemura Primal Mix False Eyelashes to the outer corners of your eye.
Step 9: Apply MAC Blush Ombre in Ripe Peach to the apples of your cheek
Step 10: Coat your lips with CoverGirl ShineBlast in Firecracker
Fresh and glowing for spring!
