Spring 2012's Most Wearable Trends (Plus Enter to Win!)
I always love looking at the runway collections for spring because it doesn't matter if it's Paris, Milan or at home in Toronto, the clothes are always cheerful and fresh. There were a number of standout trends for spring, but these 3 are the most universally wearable and the ones you are most likely to find in any store:
Bright Colours
Greta Constantine, Pink Tartan, Joe Fresh
If there is one "It" colour this spring, it's orange. How much do you love this one from Pink Tartan? Yellow comes in a close second, and at Joe Fresh's prices it's a risk-free statement piece. I think we can agree we'd all look hot in this gorgeous green from Greta Constantine, right?
Black and White
Pink Tartan, Greta Constantine, David Dixon
My closet is rejoicing right now since I've been in a black and white rut for… well... forever. This is a trend that truly anyone can wear. Don't look good in white? Make that the accent. Look better in black? You get the drill. Greta Constantine showed great examples of this. And how stunning are these dresses from Pink Tartan and David Dixon? The contrast is so crisp. I need these.
Florals
Arthur Mendonça, Sarah Stevenson, Denis Gagnon
Anyone can wear floral, you just need to find the right print. Curvy girls look great in mini floral prints like this cute skirt from Denis Gagnon. The Arthur Mendonça shift is a classic and Sarah Stevenson's creation is guaranteed to score compliments.
What are your favourite trends for spring?
Now obviously none of these glorious dresses can be worn without smooth hair-free legs. The new Philips Ladyshave HP6370 (full review right here) is your best friend in this category. It’s an electric shaver (use wet and dry) with a bikini trimmer attachment and a built-in light to ensure you don't miss a hair. Want one? We are giving away 3 every week!
*No purchase necessary. Limit of one entry per person, must be a ChickAdvisor member. Open only to residents of Canada (excluding Quebec), must be age of majority. Contest closes May 6, 2012. Skill testing question required. Odds of winning depend on number of eligible entries received. You may enter 1 (one) time every week during the contest period for a maximum of 4 (four) valid entries. Total approximate retail value of Philips Ladyshave prize is $79.99 CDN.

@gonebetty, you should try a small type of floral, I really found this year they've made florals more wearable and workable into the wardrobe with cute accessories and not very loud pieces if you aren't ready for a pair of floral pants for example.

Loving the bright colour and floral trends this year. That orange is such a pretty shade, although I don't know how well I'll be able to pull off that colour. I love the green dress.
I am a hater of florals, but I do enjoy the bright colour trend for Spring. Something I will be doing for sure! |
