Spring Break Stylin': 5 Fab Fashion Combos

I love visiting new places, I love experiencing new cultures, and I love to try new foods. Ah, the food. Unfortunately, I hate travelling. I hate the process of it, I hate flying, and I hate driving. Call me the guy from Green Eggs & Ham, it just stresses me out!

Part of what makes travel so stressful for me is freaking out over what to pack. Clothes, shoes, too much, too little, dressy or casual, and oh-my-god-what-if-I-need-hiking-boots-at-the-beach-but-forget-to-pack?!?

This is why I'm on a personal mission this spring break (and in preparation for the summer travels) to pin point the perfect fashion essentials to bring with me on vacation. We've put together a few combos that pair style with ease.

Combination #1: Chic Blouse + Statement Earrings

This look is great for sightseeing around town. Skinny khakis are comfortable and clean white is fresh and perfect for warm weather. Light fabric and a Mediterranean influence on the blouse pairs with statement earrings for a polished, boho inspired outfit.

1. Anthropologie Paisley Trails Tee (US$88.00)

2. Gap Skinny Mini Skimmer Khakis (C$59.95)

3. Browns b2 Sandals (C$98.00)

4. Lila Rice Dagger Hoop Earring (US$100.00)

5. Gigi New York Teddie Python Tote in Coral (C$295.00)

Combination #2: Nude Heeled Sandals + Modern Backpack

Nude heels make your legs look like they're miles long and this strappy pair would look amazing against a pair of printed or coloured trousers. They're versatile and can be reused for another outfit or dressed up for a night out. I love a modern backpack for toting around all your needs comfortably while practical but stylish. I'm a big fan of the denim shirt for spring, such an easy 'throw on' type of top.

1. Old Navy Mid Tone Chambray (C$17.00)

2. Forever 21 High-Rise Floral Print Pants (C$23.80)

3. Steve Madden Realove Sandal (C$100.00)

4. Ora Stevie Bag (C$275.00)

5. Urban Outfitters Havana Risky Business Sunglasses (US$14.00)

Combination #3: Printed Shorts + Fedora

This is a casual, beachy outfit without the frump. A pair of patterned shorts adds interest to an outfit and makes it more trendy and formal. They'd even be a good alternative to a cover-up over your bathing suit. Cute straw fedoras aren't for everyone but they add a little colour and laid back stylishness to an outfit.

1. Old Navy Color-Blocked Canvas Totes (C$26.94)

2. Keds Champion Originals (US$40.00)

3. Old Navy Drop-Shoulder Linen-Blend Tees (C$18.94)

4. Old Navy Neon Trim Straw Fedora (C$14.94)

5. Pac Sun Kirra Tie Front Challis Shorts (US$24.50)

Combination #4: Pullover Knit + Tennis Shoes

Tennis shoes are one of my favourite spring and summer items. They're so easy to wear with any outfit: super cute and casual with mini skirts, dresses, and skinnies. A pullover loose-knit sweater is comfy for travel and to carry around just in case it gets a bit chilly. Bling it up with some jewelry to tie it all together.

1. Free People Open Neck Sweater Tunic (C$111.09)

2. Hudson Beth Mid-Rise Baby Boot (C$198.00)

3. Brandy Melville Antique Black Stone Ring (US$4.00)

4. Brandy Melville Black Two Bird Charm Necklace (US$8.00)

5. Keds Champion Floral (US$45.00)

Combination #5: Skater Dress + Wedge

Skater dresses are so all-purpose. They work with a flats and a cute blazer for work or can be dressed up with accessories and a heel for Girls Night Out. This particular look is more day time. The belt emphasizes ladylike curves and a great scarf adds a pop of pattern. Wedges give height but are comfortable which means you'll be able to walk around all day.

1. Express Stretch Cotton Skater Dress (C$39.90)

2. H&M Belt (C$7.95)

3. TopShop Ditsy Floral Snood (UK$16.00)

4. H&M Cardigan (C$19.95)

5. Sam Edelman Sasha Wedge Sandals (C$170.84)

What are your go-to travel essentials? Will you be travelling this spring break?
