Staff Lookbook Pose Off: Alexandra's Summer Beauty - Comment to Win!

Last week, Miranda showed off some of her summer style and the week before, I posed off in my own casual weekend fashion. This week, we're tossing it up a bit with a summer makeup lookbook! I wanted to give you a taste of what I would wear on an everyday basis during the summer months and also show you how I put to use some of the beauty practices we've been chatting about lately.

Let's get into it, shall we?

Look #1: Simple Black Liner + Mascara and a Red Lip

I haven't been too keen on doing much with my eyes. I used to use a lot more eyeshadow and liner but I've been using very minimal liner or switching up black for a more natural brown. However, as I mentioned, I have been playing around a lot with my lip colour instead.

For my face, I went with my normal, foundation and concealer routine. For more details on what I use for that, check out my Before and After Makeup Transformation. On my eyes, I used Maybelline EyeStudio Color Tattoo Cream Eyeshadow in Bad to the Bronze. Then I used a white liner on the inside on my lower lash line to open up my eyes. Finally, close to the lash line on my bottom and top, I smudged out some black liner. Finally, I finally with some coats of Benefit BADgal Mascara. For my lips, I went with my new (and totally in love with) Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain in 03 Strawberry Kiss. I also raved about this one after I used in the Makeup for Glasses Tutorial. I straightened my hair as well and pulled it into a sleek ponytail.

Look #2: Bronzed and Pink Lips

I wrote about my new found love for bronzers and bronzing the other day and ladies, I was not joking around. I used the Benefit Cabana Glama Bronzing Kit to contour and give my face a sun kissed glow. Also, I will admit that I'm totally pulling a '4 days, No Shampoo' here.

On my eyes I used Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Freelove which is a glittery, peachy shade. I thought it complimented my hair and complexion nicely. I outlined my eyes with Annabelle Smudge Paint in Muddy, topped them off with some mascara. My lip colour is the Lancome Rouge in Love Lipstick in shade 340B Rose Boudoir. After straightening my hair the day before, I sleep with it in a braid and wake up to loose waves. I swear by Marc Anthony 2nd Day Clear Dry Shampoo to get rid of oily sections around my hairline. To keep my waves all day long, I also lightly spritzed on some TIGI Catwalk Sessions Series Salt Spray.

Look #3: Lilac Eyes and Magenta Lips

Because I went pretty basic with the last two looks, I decided to really play around with my eyes for my last face. I went for a soft, feminine look but with a pop of bold colour on my lips. I'm on day three of my 'no wash experiment' here so I have my hair tied up in a messy top knot, keeping my hair out of my face.

On my eyes, I used The Body Shop Lily Cole Collection Shimmer Cubes as well as my Urban Decay Ammo Shadowbox Palette. To really open them up and make me seem more awake, I brought the lightest shade of purple I had into my inner corner and tear duct. I also lined the tear duct and my water line with a white liner. I used a purple as well as a black liner to outline my eyes on the top and bottom, making the top lid thicker and more dramatic. On my lips I am wearing a Mary Kay Lip Suede in Magenta. For my face, I didn't change much in my routine, but I did try out a slightly pinker, rosy blush.

So, let me know which one of these looks you like best? Which colours or which style works best? Or do you have a beauty suggestion for me? Leave a comment by July 8th and you could win a prize!

I think all 3 looks are lovely. The only constructive criticism I would have is to use a lighter brow pencil, brown rather than black.
