Staff Picks: Claire's 5 Favourite Beauty Products for Summer

Summer is a difficult time for me, beauty-wise.  Between the sweating, humidity, and hair damage courtesy of sun, salt and chlorine, sometimes it's all I can do to keep up (and I'm kind of a low-maintenance girl to begin with).

It's this need for no-fuss never-fail products that keeps me reaching for a few of these summer beauty faves of mine:

(1) David Yurman Exotic Essence Eau de Toilette: This new fragrance in my cupboard was an instant favourite.  With notes of mandarin, casablanca lily, patchouli, vanilla, sandalwood, and more, it's a perfect blend of feminine, exotic, and sensual that easily transitions from work to play.

(2) Garnier Nutrisse Cream haircolour:  Okay, I confess: I'm a #8.  Not the Battlestar Galactica Cylon kind; I mean the bottle blonde kind.  My born-with-it shade went AWOL a few years ago and left a nondescript mousy colour in its place.  I have found Garnier Nutrisse to be consistently true to hue and very easy to use.  During the summer, pool chemicals and sun damage take their toll on my locks, but Nutrisse's fruit oil concentrates make my hair feel stronger and healthier too.

(3) Dove Ultimate Clear Anti-Perspirant: I'm not a very sweaty person. Don't hate on me though, because what I lack in perspiration I can make up for in some badass B.O. during the summer or a hard workout.  My underarm skin is on the sensitive side too, so once I discovered Dove's line of deodorants, I was completely hooked.  It beats the odour, blocks light sweating, and feels gently nourishing on my skin.

(4) Marcelle Essentials Purity 3 in 1 Cleanser: Sweat, pollen, makeup, sunscreen... it all wreaks havoc on my skin in the summer.  I recently discovered this product that not only makes my skin clean and balanced, but as a 3-in-1 (milk cleanser, toner, eye makeup remover) saves me time and is suited to all skin types.

(5) Maybelline New York The Falsies Volum' Express Mascara: I'll admit I tend to rotate through several different mascaras, all of which are truly excellent products.  I love Maybelline's 'The Falsies' mascara for the curling effect its curved brush gives.

Have you tried any of my favourites?

That's the deodorant I'm currently using! It's good it does its job and the scent is nice.

re: Marcelle 3-in-1, it's a cleansing milk and has a very light scent to it. It's also fairly moisturizing. I'd definitely suggest it for normal or dry skin. I think it's worth a shot for sensitive. My skin definitely is sensitive to lotions, though not to cleansers so I can't say for sure.

I used the Dove Deoderant before, but I'm more of a sweater than a smeller, the scent was quite pleasant however! I'm interested in the Marcelle 3-in-1 cleanser...I tried these 3-in-1's in other brands, but they all seem to break me out like crazy! Since I see Marcelle more in drug stores than Department stores, I'm hesitant to try it. What do you think it does for sensitive skin?
