Staff Weekend Lookbook: Alexandra's Casual Summer Pose Off- Comment to Win!

This week, we're doing something a little different in our pose off. We were inspired by the gorgeous summer weather we've been having and the fabulous fashion we've been seeing in the stores. To show off some of our personal style and fashion inspiration, we thought it would be fun to create our personal summer lookbooks. First up, I put together a casual, summer weekend lookbook with outfits I'm loving wearing lately.

Friday Night: Outfit #1

Friday night was fro-yo night with a good friend. I have a serious addiction to Menchie's frozen yogurt so of course, that's where we headed. We did some book shopping and of course, hit up the Zara and H&M nearby. I wanted to go with something comfortable because we would be walking but still stylish since we'd be downtown.

So, I realise that my pants are kind of ridiculous and crazy but I can't help loving them. And yes, they are pants, not a maxi skirt! I found them at Winners and they feel ridiculously good on. It's almost like wearing PJ pants. On top, I have a semi sheer top from Old Navy in a charcoal grey. It's a trendy but basic piece, good for pairing with a print like this. I also have with me a thrifted 70's inspired woven bag (that I stole from my mom!). I think it goes with the whole boho vibe of my printed pants.

Saturday: Outfit #2

On Saturday, I hit up the Wine and Spirit Festival at Sugar Beach in Toronto. I wanted something easy, breezy and stress-free since I would be in the sun all day and walking in the sand.

I'm wearing my coral shorts, which you also saw in my beachwear pose off. I paired it with a sleeveless floral and sheer blouse, both from H&M. I paired it with a thrifted straw handbag and my favourite TOMS sunglasses. Because it can get a bit chilly near the water, I brought my Forever 21 basic cardi in a rusty, orange colour.

Sunday: Outfit #3

Sunday is always a lazy day for me. I like to wear easy pieces, but I don't want to compromise on cuteness. I don't want to wear anything fussy, but at the same time, I want something I can walk to Starbucks or the grocery store in.

Here I am wearing one of my current favourite tops. Just a simple, inexpensive tank from H&M but in a fluorescent pink colour that I love. I'm wearing it with a floral thrifted skirt with these great slits on the side. It's amazing to wear on a hot day with a light breeze. I put it with my go to, thrifted (and slightly beat up) black envelope clutch and my Winners wedge sandals (also from the beachwear pose off).

So, let me know if you have a favourite piece or outfit from my lookbook (and you can even tell me that you think I am bananas for wearing those pants). Or, just leave me a comment letting me now what go to summer item you have in your closet! Comment by June 24th and you could win!

#1 is my favorite for sure!! Love the ideas of #2 and 3 but I didn't love the execution. Great eye though!

I love the outfit #2! It's just so simple and screams summer! And I kinda sorta dig the pants in outfit 1...personally I'm too big of a chicken to even try to pull something like that off, but hats off to you! IT looks amazing with that top!!

I really like your outfit Alexandra! This is something I can see myself wearing. It is causal but still looks put together.

All in all, they are all fabulous ensembles, but one that stood out for me was the third one. Really flatters her and shows a dash of her feminine side. Just love the colour coordination. First one, though, is kind of dowdy. Second one is a bit bulky and gives an impression that she is shorter than she looks.
