Staff Weekend Lookbook: Miranda's Hot Summer Pose Off (plus comment to WIN)
Longtime ChickAdvisor readers know we have a thing for our Posing Wall. And while we usually we pose off against each other (winning is the most important thing, right?), we are switching things up a little 'round these parts for the next few weeks.
For my lookbook, I decided to showcase some of my favourite pieces for the summer. You may notice a recurring trend in my outfits, and that is I love to incorporate a lot of neutrals. While it's easy to stick with a safe play, I am finding myself adding more colour lately.
Day 1:
In my first look, I paired my loud and proud pink jeans with a sheer sleeveless blouse from H&M and a pair of black pumps from Banana Republic's Madmen Collection. I accessorized my outfit with edgy studs, dash of silver, and matching skinny belt. White tank blouses are a must-have for summer weather and perfect for layering. To spruce up the blouse, I under layered one of my favourite white camisole top that I picked up at a clothing swap party. I absolutely love the stitched details and scallop neckline. It transformed my simple blouse into an exciting new piece.
Day 2:
Less is more, so show some skin! It can't be contained anyway in this beautiful balmy weather. Here I've paired my favourite silk green tank from H&M, a pair of high-waist shorts from Zara, vintage belt that I dug up in a pile of my mom's old stuff, and elastic gladiator sandals from Spring Shoes (which I should mention are super comfortable, easy to get on and off, and can be paired with many outfits). To top it off, I added a few small accessories and Longchamp handbag.
Day 3:
For my final look, I was feeling hip chic. I wore out my favourite leather crossbody bag from ASOS, which was last introduced in my posing wall article. Knowing that I would be strolling downtown Toronto and shopping, I wanted to wear something light and casual. With that being said, I put together a grey Zara maxi dress and striped tank from Express, and kicked it off with white lace flats from Urban Outfitters. Lastly, I accented my outfit with a silver ornament pendant I got as a gift.
It's easy to create a fresh and fun summer look just by throwing in a hot bright color. Accessorize with a few of your favourite statement pieces and you can go from simple to stylish. Which of my 3-day looks is your favourite? Do you have any pieces that you enjoy wearing this season?

I love day 1 outfit.Especially the bold pink jeans. | |
Wow, these three outfits are equally very nice! Gold star*** If I had to choose just one outfit I would choose the dress only because it is a dress. I love the pink pants with the white top because it looks so summer fresh and the bling is just gorgeous. Outfit No. 1 is perfect. Outfit No.2 is very nice because the blouse is a beautiful colour and I absolutely adore those high waisted shorts. The shoes are a perfect match for this outfit. No.3 is very very nice. I love the style of that dress and was actually surprised that the top is a separate piece because they go together so well. Perfect choice on the shoes for a fun shopping day! I want to raid her closet!! |
