Whether you love or hate the idea of designer apparel for children, with Stella McCartney's second collection for GapKids and BabyGap hitting stores today it looks like the famous Brit has captured the kiddie market.

The line describes itself as a foundation of summer essentials with some playful, distinctive pieces thrown into the mix that allows kids to create their own personal sense of style. Take a look:

Dolman Shirt, $54 CAN

Mercy Dress, $68 CAN

Bea top, $54 CAN, Skinny Zip Jean, $68 CAN

Beckett Jacket, $64 CAN, Slim Jean $68 CAN

Either the Gap creative team decided they just weren't going to get a smile out of this kid model, or they're overthrowing the Anti-duckface groups with their launch of The New and Improved Duckface by Gap. Watch out Stella, you've got a thunder stealer on your hands.

Seriously though, what do you think of the clothes? Would you buy them for your sons, daughters, nieces and nephews? Or will you take a hint from Italian songstress Carla Bruni here, and wear them yourself?
