Street Style: What They're Wearing in Glasgow
The snow is coming down in truckloads in Scotland, but that doesn’t stop these chicks from owning their personal fashion statement. Glasgow in two words? Vintage and Grunge.
Remember those Christmas sweaters that your mom used to wear and you always thought they were too hideous? Jillian shows us that fairisle sweaters don’t have to be tacky. Layered with a printed blouse, this outfit is so easily put together.
Ali is the queen of layering. She threw together a leopard print jacket with a paisley scarf, but didn't stop there. She layered them over a wicked Run DMC graphic tank. I’m suddenly feeling inspired to dig up one of my old band tees and try this look myself, aren’t you?
Clearly the Scottish know more than just tartans and kilts! What do you think of their style statements?

I found that Scottish style was much more easy going than that of London. It's strange though because Scotland has the same high street shopping as England. And Glasgow doesn't have the same big city buzz of London, so that could contribute to the more conservative style.
thetats I was wondering the same thing. Nikki it would be great to see more pictures of people's style to get a full sense of the trends there. Do you have any more?
I want to like the looks but I just can't :( How much does this represent what's in style in Glasgow?... I like Ali's scarf, but not the way it is worn...
I love Jillian's look! The fairisle jumper is beautiful, and her makeup is gorgeous! x
I like the vintage T as well, I think those T's add some edge to any outfit!
Overall, I'm not lovin' the looks. Individually however, I like the band T and wild sweater.
I've always assumed that Scottish style was roughly the same as English style, but there's definitely a different spin on things here. The Scottish style seems very easy-going - it's cute. |
