Swimwear Trends: Polka Dot Swimsuits
We've all heard the song, that iconic one about the not-so-big bikini in a bright lemony hue that a girl wore to the singer's utter delight. We even included one below that will get others humming the tune when they see you at the pool. But that song isn't the final word in polka dots, though it does sum up the nostalgia that the print evokes. Big or small, they've got a Beach Blanket Bingo-vibe, bringing to mind the kind of fun you'd see on drive-in screens.

The J-Crew Underwire reminds me of the 1950's.It looks so classic!
I love the V.S balconet top one. Whhhhy are all of these adorable suits coming out now when I can't wear them? I tried on a maternity bathing suit yesterday. It was horrifying. There wasn't anything wrong with the suit. It was one of the ones we'd recently featured from Envy Mama, actually. But I looked like a whale in it. And I went up a size. Pregnancy is not kind to the thighs or bum, Sisters. Not kind at all.
I've always wanted an itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini. But I must say I've been eyeing the Victoria's Secret Beach Sexy Balconet for a while. I like the idea of an underwire in a bathing suit.
Cute! I like the ones with the small polka-dots instead of the large ones because of the same reason as what mamaluv said. Hmm I do like the pink one-piece Seafolly Viva Frill Maillot.
Like the idea, but doesn't work on me for some reason :/ I like the Victoria's Secret Magicsuit (bottom left) because the fine print would probably camouflage my problem areas quite well (and who doesn't love a swimsuit with support, amirite?) |
