Ten Reasons Why We Love Lady Gaga

There's no question that the world is going Gaga. Her new album "Born this Way" dropped on Monday, breaking records world-wide. Her fans also broke the Internet, overloading Amazon's Cloud Drive, which offered the album for 0.99 cents. The Mother Monster also took over the TV, appearing on The View, Saturday Night Live, Letterman and an eTalk special with Ben Mulroney this week.

1) Lady Gaga has a sense of humour.
No stranger to ridiculous outfits, Gaga donned a dress covered in grapes for a Liquorville skit with SNL season finale host Justin Timberlake, who was dressed as a beer bottle. She also appeared in the latest Digital Short; "3-Way (the Golden Rule)"* featuring the dudes with the chinstraps who brought you “Dick in a Box.”
*Warning: the video sketch is not work appropriate

2) Lady Gaga fights HIV/AIDS.
"Whether you’re black, white, beige, chola descent, you’re Lebanese, you’re Orient"—Lady Gaga’s nude lipstick for M.A.C’s Viva Glam campaign (100 per cent of the profits from the lipsticks go to the MAC AIDS Fund) will work for you, because Gaga does not discriminate. She is also very passionate about a cause that is 100 per cent preventable, but remains incurable.

3) Lady Gaga teams up with Clarence Clemons.
Lady Gaga recruited E Street Band saxophonist Clarence Clemons on "Hair," "Edge of Glory" and "Highway Unicorn (Road to Love)" for her new album. "The Big Man" has worked with legends like Bruce Springsteen and Aretha Franklin. Clemons told Rolling Stone that he was a "Gaga-ite" before working with her. That’s how you know she’s a big deal.

4) Lady Gaga released her new music on Facebook’s Farmville.
Seriously? Who even thinks of that? She called it Gagaville.

5) Lady Gaga gets the HBO treatment.
For all the Little Monsters who weren’t lucky enough to see it live, or want to relieve it again and again, the Monsterball Tour, a glam pop epic about Lady Gaga’s journey to get to her concert on time, was filmed in Madison Square Gardens and can be seen on HBO this month.

6) Lady Gaga gives back to Japan.
100 per cent of Gaga’s five-dollar "We Pray for Japan" bracelets go directly to Japan relief efforts. Gaga tweeted that in 48 hours her Little Monsters raised a quarter of a million dollars for Japan Relief. She, along with the incomparable Karl Lagerfeld, Victoria Beckham and a slew of others worked with Vogue and GQ Japan to design a Fashion Unites for Japan T-shirt, the proceeds of which support the Japanese Red Cross Society.

7) Gaga can actually sing.
For anyone who has ever seen Gaga perform, she actually sings live. She lives and breathes for her fans, and actually bleeds on stage for them (not real blood of course). And she’s proud of it.

8) Gaga’s body is slammin’.
And it has to be to get away with what she wears.

9) Lady Gaga is down to earth.
Watch any interview with Lady Gaga and you’ll see the fame didn’t get to her head. She told Anderson Cooper she still calls her parents everyday. She jumped on Ben Mulroney’s lap when he complimented her music. She takes a tumble every now and then in her outrageous shoes and reminds us that she's human.

10) She was "Born this Way."
Gaga is all about one thing, being true to who you are. Gaga doesn’t change her personality to fit what she thinks others want. Her wardrobe has never been what you might call normal. And she inspires her fans to do the same. If she wants to wear a meat dress, she will. But, if you’re more comfortable in a nice pair of jeans, that’s cool with her too.

Why are you going gaga for Gaga?

I also think Dick in the box was funnier but they did a really good job on this one too. Lady Gaga is really talented and who knows, soon she might start acting. I would definitely want to see how she is going to branch out.

I just watched the video and it's so hilarious. Dick in a Box was funnier, but this was still pretty good. She's certainly talented and I think a brilliant marketer. She also obviously has a really great team around her.

I am definitely gaga for Gaga... She's so intriguing and rude at the same time. I watched the HBO special and she's amazing, entertaining, outside the box, mouthy, and mesmerizing. I love how passionate she is when she cries because she's worreid she won't live up to her fan's expectations.. she needn't worry though... they eat up everything she says and does.

If you watch it to the end, during the credits she sings sans music and it's AMAZING. She can really belt it out and I got shivers.

Some may think she's a bad influence to the younger audience, but I can't because she sends those teens such important messages about not being hard on yourselves and don't hurt yourself over bullies and what other people may think. She's so in tune with that younger age group that if I was a parent I wouldn't be offended by her reaching out to my children. Teens need to hear what she has to say only because we all know they will actually listen to her.

I don't know what she's got, but it's truly a magnificent gift for voice, creativity, style and influence...and it's a gift she uses so, so well.

@jskim07 - I think Gaga was always like that. Her producers and team of people probably wanted to play it safe by starting out with "Just Dance" and seeing how popular that was, they just eventually let her do her thing.

I like Gaga because she is so different and wild. You don't even have to like her but I'm sure people can't deny their curiosity of what Gaga will wear or do next. Her songs are controversial and I know a lot of religious people are against it but her videos and songs make you think of the deeper meaning that she is trying to convey.

Gaga changed so much over the years! Remember her in "Just Dance"? Nevertheless, change is good, and I think she's so pretty! I'd definitely call her "Girl Hot" rather than "Boy Hot" though.
