The Best of NYFW Fall 2013 Beauty Trends
New York Fashion Week has once again come and gone in a whirlwind and left us with a heck of a lot of exhausted models and a ton of gorgeous beauty trends to inspire us.
In fact, so many gorgeous trends that to go through every single one would probably leave us with a strong desire to never look at another eyeliner again. And that would be a shame (though maybe not for our wallets). So instead, we rounded up our very favourite beauty looks including hair, eyes, lips, skin and even nails, from the fall 2013 shows at NYFW.
Best Face and Skin: Velvet
Soft, fresh and bare faced beauty was popular on the fall 2013 runway. We love the fact that it's not dewy but yet not quite matte either. Highlighting and blush are subtle as is any contouring. Focus is on flawless, natural looking skin.

Best Lips: Berries and Coral
While the fall 2012 'it colour' was oxblood, we'll be moving towards a lighter, softer berry colour for 2013. We love the dusty tones and the stained effect on many of the models lips. At Oscar de la Renta, they showed a gorgeous orange-coral pop of colour for a beachy feel.

Best Eyes: Smoky, Cat and All Over The Lid Colour
One of the best looks from NYFW was the simple, sheer wash of colour all over the lid. Also showing up was the ever popular cat eye and smoky eye. A strong, natural and lush brow was present on the runway, framing the eyes.

Best Hair: Natural Waves, Bohemian, Braids
The best hair at NYFW was underdone and even a bit messy. With loose waves and natural colours, it was a return to bohemian beachyness. Rodarte and Alice + Olivia both showed beautiful, braided hairstyles that while detailed, weren't complex or over the top.

Best Nail Art: 3D Gems, Geometric Inspiration
Nail colours were kind of all over the place this fashion week. But there were a few standout shades and nail art styles we couldn't stop thinking about. Geometric inspired styles dominated: whether it was simple triangle or square adorned nails or more complex patterns. We especially loved the studded nail art seen at Kate Spade.

Love the natural look. | |
So with you about the berry lips! That's my favourite colour to wear, could never pull the red off myself and it was getting a little jarring seeing it on everyone all the time. Also interested in trying the Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush, looks neat (and affordable!)
I'm so excited about the berry lips. Oxblood just really wasn't doing it for me.
