The Empire State Building At Your Feet

Geox is taking the staycation to new heights - by auctioning off New York City in a high heeled shoe.

Beginning today, Canadian women can start putting their bids on the Geox midnight blue sequined Empire State Building shoe that premiered at Milan Spring/Summer 2010 fashion week. The shoe's heel is 12 centimetres high and embellished with rhinestones. The lightweight sole is waterproof and breathable - no surprise for a shoe coming from a company that has built its reputation on long-lasting comfort.

Though comfort isn't the first thing that comes to mind at the sight of the shoe, it is truly dazzling and unique. I think the pair would have a better home in my china cabinet than on my feet. It is, after all, the only one of its kind in Canada.

Bidding takes place on eBay until March 8, International Women's Day. Proceeds are donated to the chick-friendly charity Dress for Success.

Visit ebay.ca and search "Geox shoe benefiting Dress for Success" to place your bid on the Empire State Building shoes.
