The "Supermom" Girl on the Go: What's in Claire's Bag (plus enter to win!)
I’m a mom of 3 and work full-time. Between soccer practices, school events, birthday parties, and tight work deadlines, my motto has to be “Work Hard And Play Hard”. Especially when 3 teachers from 2 different schools call within the space of 15 minutes asking me to pick up a sick kid from the nurse’s office.
Yup, some might dub me a ‘Supermom’ but you should know by now that it doesn’t always go according to plan. Obviously I can’t allow the little inconveniences of life to slow me down (my Time Of The Month, for example). After all, you never know when the next disaster will hit, like an emergency run to the pet store because a fancy male guppy got frisky with the grouchy oversized molly and got himself eaten.
You all know someone just like me, I’ll bet. I’m the girl wearing sensible business wear accessorized with statement jewelry by day, well-worn jeans and crosstrainers by night and on my way to the soccer fields. I’ve even been known to change from work clothes to play clothes in the back of my minivan on occasion.
I won’t tell you about my well-worn and sensible tote because it’s in serious need of an upgrade. An upgrade like a certain Marc Jacobs hobo I've been lusting over, for example, which will go with everything in my wardrobe and have more than enough room for me to cram in my essentials. I've already accidentally-on-purpose left the picture lying around the house for my mister to find before our upcoming anniversary (hint hint).
And by "essentials", I mean my beloved CoverGirl Lashblast mascara and heavy duty cuticle cream for a start. But since I was a Girl Guide once upon a time, I am also prepared with emergency supplies like granola bars, assorted kids toys, Goody Ouchless Hair Elastics and a travel hairbrush, a calendar notebook (to keep track of my chauffeuring duties, natch), Always® Radiant™ Incredibly Thin Liners, mini sunscreen, and a zillion pens. On soccer practice days, it also needs to carry 3 reusable water bottles and maybe even my battered copy of Pride & Prejudice for those rare quiet moments. Not that those ever happen, mind you...
