top products for hair removal
"Hit the road, Jack, and dontcha come back no mo', no mo', no mo'..."

Shaving, yanking, tweezing, waxing? The savage delight we take in removing that unwanted body hair easily overcomes the discomfort and inconvenience. There are few things more mood-busting during a pool party than suddenly realizing you forgot to groom "down there" or missed a large strip of hairy calf.

Yuck. We want to make it easier for you to enjoy a stubble-free summer, so we scoured the ChickAdvisor reviews for the top-rated products recommended by YOU.

Braun Silk Epil Epilator

Best Epilator:
Braun Silk Epil Epilator, $60ish

You said: "At first it looked like a torture device, but once I got it started there was hardly any pain. I would say that it hurts less than waxing, and takes about the same amount of time."

We suggest: Legs get best results. Do not use on the bikini or underarm area until you are more experienced, or if you have a decent pain tolerance.

Schick Quattro for Women

Best Razor:
Schick Quattro for Women, $9ish plus razor refills

You said: "The wire wrapped blades really prevent nicks, and in my case, prevented sharp, rough stubble..."

We suggest: Suitable for all body hair

Parissa Warm Wax

Best Home Wax:
Parissa Warm Wax, $13ish

You said: "It's a little more expensive than most wax kits on the shelf at the department store, but lasts a lot longer and it is the closest thing I have found to a salon formula."

We suggest: Individuals with sensitive skin should do a patch test first. If you cut strips to size, you can use them on any body or facial hair.  We also like Parissa's Body Sugar, which gets the same great results as the warm wax, but in a washable formula.

Veet hair removal

Best Depilatory Product
: Veet In Shower Hair Removal Cream, $5ish

You said: "I found that my legs were super smooth and they stayed that way for longer than I expected."

We suggest: Again, those with sensitive skin should do a patch test first. Suitable for all body hair.

Schick Quattro Trimstyle

Best Razor for "Down There"
: Schick Quattro Trimstyle for Women, $12ish plus razor replacements

You said: "This product makes hair removal easy in the shower because it's waterproof."

We suggest: This product has the Quattro razor on one end and the trimmer on the base. It is a good multitasker, but you will need to buy two sets of replacement razors.

Gigi Brazillian Wax

Best Wax for "Down There"
: GiGi Microwaveable Brazilian Bikini Wax Kit, $13ish

You said: "Doing it myself was a lot easier than I thought it would be - and the results were just as fantastic."

We suggest: The kit comes with before and after care products. The wax itself is smaller than other tubs when bought in this kit, but is available separately to purchase.

PVB Vanish Ingrown Treatment

Best Ingrown Treatment:
PFB Vanish Ingrown Hair and Razor Burn Treatment, $20ish

You said: "It helped get rid of the ingrown hair and even though I have very sensitive skin, I had no irritation or problems with the product."

We suggest: The active ingredient is salicylic acid, so those with aspirin allergies should avoid it. The product is recommended for any area where body hair has been removed.

...and under the category of "Does that really work??"
Smooth Away Hair Removal

Smooth Away Hair Remover, $12ish

You said: "A little time consuming but it leaves my skin soft, exfoliated, and virtually hair free."

We said: Um, since it's like rubbing sandpaper over your skin, we're just going to take your word for it...

Parissa really is the best brand, in my opinion. All the other waxing products irritate my skin. Also, I'm not gonna say it's pain-free because there's no wax on this earth that is, but it hurts a hell of a lot less than Veet ir any of those other products did. I love Parissa, have been a loyal customer for years, and have never been disapointed with one of their products.

BEST SHAVING CREAM to prevent razor bumps and burns- If you were to put a category for SHAVING CREAM I would have to say the best by far is the AVEENO SKIN RELIEF SHAVE GEL....Love it... Love it...Love it...!!!!!!!

Can't believe the VEET wax wasn't mentioned here! It beats Parissa wax strips for sure, it doesn't leave anything on the legs and keeps the hair off (for me for at least 6 weeks)

And you can't forget the Veet perfect finish wipes, aloe scented

My favourites are the epilator and Parissa Body Sugar. I haven't bought a razor in years and best of all, no nicks or scratchy stubble.
