Tip Tuesday: 3 Essential Eyeliners For Your Makeup Bag
Today we're going to let you in on three eyeliners that you need to have in your makeup bag, only (surprise, surprise) none of them are black! Black liner is a go-to for most chicks and of course, we love that a good liner can be used to define your eyes and create a dramatic smoky eye. However, dark colours make your features recede and when it comes to your eyes, you always want them to pop and appear larger.
We have three alternative colours that will bring your eyes to the forefront making them a focal point while still giving them definition. Plus, these liners also have some other beauty super powers that we'll let you in on.
#1: Brown Eyeliner
Brown liner is a great day time alternative to black. It still defines your eyes but it's softer and less stark than a black liner. Black can be harsh, especially under fluorescent lighting or on a mature face or paler skin tones. Brown can be used with any eye colour, but it especially pops with blue eyes.
3. Benefit BADgal Liner Waterproof in Espresso (C$26.00)
#2: Nude Eyeliner
We've spoken before about how handy a nude liner is to have in your makeup bag. It can be used as a highlighter to open up your inner corner or to line your waterline, making your eyes appear larger. We also love the idea of trying out a nude liner on your lid. It's a fresh, natural look and on a darker skin tone, the nude really stands out and draws attention to the eyes.
5. Tarte EmphasEYES Inner Rim Brightener (C$23.00)
#3: White Eyeliner
While most people may shy away from white liner, we suggest the opposite! A great trick with white liner is to use it to enhance the colour of a matte shadow. Apply the white liner over your lid and then pat on a colour over top to really boost pigmentation! White can also be used in the inner corner, below the brow and on the waterline to open up your eye. We especially love the contrast of a dark skin tone with a bright, white liner. Check out this pin up inspired tutorial for an example.
3. Sephora Collection Jumbo Liner 12HR Wear Waterproof (C$15.00)

LOVE all of these eyeliner trends. They are just as classic as black being a must-have or red lips!
I used to only use black liner, but then I started wearing brown for a day time look. It makes my eyes look fresh and not as harsh, especially at work. I also use grey as well for a change from black.
I'm sorry but white liner on the top lid needs to go away but I do like it when you add the color on top to make it pop more.
I have recently switched to brown eyeliner--it was on accident though, I didn't pay attention to the color label on the box when I bough it. I really like it though, it is much less harsh than black and it highlights my brown eyes. I think I might buy more brown eyeliner from now on and save the black for dramatic looks. Also the white eyeliner tip for matte eye shadow is genius, I might try it!
Weird! I just commented and it disappeared...
One of my FAVORITE brown liners is by Urban Decay. The shade is called "demolition." I highly recommend it :)
I have a brown eyeliner, but my go-to liner is black.
I've been wanting to get a brown eyeliner for a while but just havent gotten around to it.
