Tip Tuesday: 3 Surprising Beauty Tricks I Learned This Weekend
It's amazing how much article material I get from a single conversation with my girlfriends. In one chat sesh, we'll discuss everything from hair removal methods to the latest Netflix offerings (p.s. Orange is the New Black, anyone?). Now, I don't want to toot my own horn, but usually in these little meetings, I'm the go to gal for all questions beauty related. However, I recently picked up a few tips and tricks in my last few gal pal convos that I had actually never heard or even thought of.
Wondering what they are?
Trick #1: Dryer Sheets To Tame Frizzy Hair
I hadn't heard of this remedy to cure the flyaways before, but after googling around a bit, I learned not only was this a common practice but there are actually a few other handy uses for dryer sheets (besides the obvious one of course). For calm and collected hair dos, simply pat, wipe or gently rub down your crazy locks. Definitely a good tip to keep in mind come hat season!
Trick #2: Shaving With Honey
I would be remiss if I didn't credit a friend, Rachel, for giving me this trick (I told her if I used it in an article I would mention her). She told me that she knew of someone who shaved with honey and who swore it gave them smoother legs and that it actually helped reduce hair growth. It sounded like an old wives tale to me, so I did some digging and it seems that she's not the only person who has heard of this. Apparently raw honey is an anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial, so using it as a shaving cream prevents stubble and ingrown hairs. I read a few sources that suggested using it with lemon juice or oil for moisturization or even sugar. And using this as either a sort of mask or simply shaving with it.
Trick #3: Hair Wax Doubles For Brows
If you fill in your brows like I do, you know the value of a good gel to keep those babies in their place all day. Enter in hair wax. It's strong hold, inexpensive, works wonderfully and an entire jar is basically going to last you a lifetime. Bonus: I find gels get goopy and icky after a while but a wax can be used with old mascara wands or any reusable brush that is simply washed/replaced when it gets dirty.
Do you have any excellent beauty tips or tricks? What's the most surprising or weirdest tip you've ever heard?

Not sure about dryer sheets on hair
I have tried dryer sheets for my hair, and it works occasionally. Thank you, Creamsicle, for bringing awareness to us all about dryer sheets. This may sway my judgement about using them from now on. As of right now, I do, but once they are gone I may decide not to use them again.
Darn, my secret is out! lol! I always use dryer sheets in my hair, smells good and helps with static as well! :)

I didn't know about the honey one, but the wax one seemed pretty common and I already knew about the dryer sheets. Interesting. Thanks!
I am really against using dryer sheets - even in the dryer! They have many known carcinogens in them, and some cancer causing ones. Here's a great article: http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-504763_162-20097302-10391704.html And there are so many more I could site. They may smell nice (personally, they make me sick), but it's not worth it!!
Love all the tips and I like using the hair wax on brows too :)
