Tip Tuesday: 5 DIY Home Remedies

I'm kind of a clumsy person. Some would call it accident prone, I call it adorable awkward, but that's another discussion. The point is, with all the conundrums I get into, I need a list of go-to remedies for bruises, sore muscles or anything else that my unfortunate body gets put through.

Of course, store bought remedies are easy but I don't always have them on hand when I'm in a pinch. So, when my muscles are so sore I don't think I will actually be able to get off the couch to get to the store, DIY versions of store bought products are handy to have.

Here are five DIY home remedies that you can try out for yourself:

1. Olive oil + Horseradish: Mix 1 tbsp of horseradish with 1 cup of olive oil and let sit for 30 minutes. Apply with a massage to achy muscles.

2. Alka-Seltzer: Supposedly, this little product is not just for indigestion, it can also be used to help prevent UTI's. Dissolve two tablets in a glass of water and take at onset of symptoms to steer a UTI off.

3. Vinegar: Soak a cotton ball in vinegar and apply to a bruise for an hour, it helps speed up the healing process.

4. Apple Cider Vinegar: Rub this directly on a mean mosquito bite to relieve itchiness.

5. Mouthwash: As a powerful antiseptic, mouthwash can be used to treat broken blisters and even yucky fungus. Just be careful of the drying aspects since it is powerful.

Have you ever tried any of these? Do you have your own DIY remedies?

Hmm I'm gonna have to remember the apple cider vinegar one for when the mosquitos are back out. I don't usually get a lot of bites, but my fiance always ends up with a million.
