Tip Tuesday: DIY Exfoliator in One Step
Exfoliating your face a few times a week should be part of your skincare routine. By removing dead skin cells, it helps to keep your skin smooth, reduce acne and refine your complexion.
Like any skincare or beauty product, exfoliators can get pricey. Plus, I think we all know that there's nothing worse than waking up in the morning and reaching for your favourite go to product, only to realise that your past self has done the meanest thing ever and used it all up!
However, there's a nifty trick for a DIY exfoliator that's dirt cheap and that will last and last. And with only one ingredient, if you're in a pinch in the morning, it only takes a second to create.
So, ready for this magical recipe? Here it is:
Your cleanser + baking soda! Yup, that's it!
Put baking soda in a small bowl then pour your cleanser in. Mix them together to create a scrub. Do this on a per use basis (so every time you go to exfoliate, which is recommended to do 1-2 times per week).
Baking soda is less coarse and not as harsh as some other store bought scrubs and it's environmentally friendly to boot! Use as you would any other scrub.
Have you ever tried this before or would you? Do you have any simple DIY beauty tips?

Excited to try this! So simple.
This is cool, I love diy/homemade type things like this! I have been using just a spoonful of sugar with my usual cleanser every few days to make a good scrub, but that can be a bit harsh for some skin types. This definitely seems a bit gentler, and it's one of those things that's always around the house!

Awesome find! Considering Baking Soda is said to be brightening, it's perfect for me.. my skin could use some extra brightening this time of year. Good going girlfriend :) |
