Tip Tuesday: How to Clean Up Shadow Fall Out

There's something so utterly frustrating about doing your foundation and concealer perfectly, then moving onto your eyes and getting that shadow fall out absolutely everywhere. If you also fall victim to the fall out, you need to read these 4 tips of cleaning up and preventing it!

#1: Mak-Up Remover Pens: Got a few flecks of shadow here and there? Clean it up with a make up remover pen. They're super handy to tote around in your purse for touch ups on the go.

1. ELF Make Up Remover Pen (US$3.00)

2. Anna Sui Makeup Remover Pen (C$19.00)

3. Givenchy Mister Perfect Instant Makeup Eraser High Definition  (C$33.00)

4. Paula Dorf Sweep Away Clean-Up Stick (C$13.00)

#2: Q-tip + Cleansing Water: Got a cotton swab and some make up remover on you? Then you've got yourself an easy fix for fall out. A Q-tip and remover combo are also essential to have around when trying to perfect a cat eye.

Caudalie Make-Up Remover Cleansing Water (C$28.00)

Marcelle Essentials Soothing Cleansing Water (C$14.95)

#3 Tape: Tape is excellent for picking up all the pieces of glitter that fall when doing your makeup!

#4 Shield: Use a shield to protect your under eye area from shadow fall out. You can purchase one (below) or DIY one with a piece of heavy cardstock. Also handy for those of us who aren't the best at applying mascara delicately.

ELF Studio Mascara & Shadow Shield (US$3.00)

Pro Tip:  Lots of makeup artists suggest doing your eyes first so you don't totally wreck your foundation job. If you happen to do your foundation first though, after removing your fall out, if you need a little extra cover up or blending to make a smooth canvas, carry around a highlighting/concealer pen duo like these!

1. L'Oreal True Match Touche Magique Concealer (C$12.99)

2. Lorac Touch-Up To Go (C$37.00)

3. Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer (C$12.09)

I did not know about make-up remover pens! I did know about the tape technique though, I was a cheerleader and we had to always glitter our eyes. There was absolutely no way to not have glitter all over your face after, because we had to put so much on. Tape was our best friend. Tape truly works!! You don't need any expensive products. As far as a q-tip goes, I use them all the time to wipe mascara that I may accidentally get around my lashes.

I'm definitely going to make a ghetto version of the shield, I've never tried using one but bet it works well! I usually just put a bit of extra pressed powder underneath, then wipe it away with a clean brush afterwards.

I just use a soft blush brush to dust the excess away.

Awesome post! I use a plain card stock, cut out a half moon and place it under my lower lashes. It works well too and acts as a stencil for crisp/ clean shadow lines.
