Toronto Event: Shoppers Drug Mart Weekend to End Women's Cancers
Sponsored
It's a sobering statistic: approximately 1 in 7 Canadian women will be diagnosed with some form of breast or gynecological cancer in their lifetime (source: EndCancer.ca). As scary as that sounds, there is also good news. Early detection is on the rise, survival rates are climbing, and treatment options are expanding!
These advancements have mass awareness campaigns and fundraisers to thank for their progress. Today we're helping spread the word about a local Toronto event: the Shoppers Drug Mart Weekend to End Women's Cancers benefiting Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.
When: September 7 & 8, 2013
Where: Toronto, Ontario
What: a 32-km (1 day) or 60-km (2 days) walk through scenic neighborhoods, including pit stops, dinner, evening entertainment, massages, and more. For those of you who have participated in the past, this year boasts a brand new route along the Toronto waterfront with an option to camp overnight on centre field at Rogers Centre.
Whether you choose to walk in support of a specific loved one or just enjoy "cardio for a cause", it promises to be a fun event. Grab some friends and pencil in this Girls Weekend now! Click on the image below to register:
Sure beats vegging out and catching up on old 'Hoarders' episodes, doesn't it?

This sounds incredible. I wish that I could participate.
I love it whenever you can combine an activity you love with a great cause. I've gone to several Zumba-thons in my city supporting local food banks and school supply drives. A fantastic workout and raising much needed funds! This event sounds like a lot of fun, too.
