Toronto Fashion Week Fall 2011 Trends: Coats
If there's one investment we never regret, it's a winter coat. A coat that keeps out the chill with a vibrant hue (the neoprene orange overcoats at Joe Fresh made a huge impact on the crowds when they first appeared) or create a cocoon-like form that allows plenty of room for layering, like those designed by Jeremy Laing, Vawk and Lundström. The coats that felt freshest were full and swinging in playful, generous cuts.

I love coloured coats. But I prefer ones with structure vs. the loose boxy shapes. The loose ones are horribly impractical for chilly winter winds and they will also make you appear several sizes larger than you are. Unless you can cinch them in with a great belt. My favourites are the purple one from Lundstrom and the short blue one from Vawk.
Sigh. I can't think clearly regarding this topic. But that is only because I thought we were finally close to spring and summer and now I see a fall fashion line. I'm not ready to see this yet so I refuse to even decide if I like it or not! :)
I dunno - just can't get excited about capes. I love the different cuts and textures we've been seeing for a while now, but I have difficulty visualizing myself actually wearing one.
