Cozy Layers

While it may seem obvious to layer-up during the cooler months, many people still mismanage this trend entirely. For Fall 2010, designers have made layering more obvious and less complicated. Lundstrom stacks a patterned jacket over a cardigan and boots over knee-high leggings, while Jules Power uses an orange belt to cinch in a camel-colored blazer over a gray dress.

Plenty of Patterns

Floral patterns keep the spirit of summer alive with bold prints on silk, cotton and sequined onto tailored dresses. Jules Power maintains a sexy femininity with a strapless sweetheart neckline; pairing the fresh look with black tights helps keep the look earthy enough for the fall.

Indoor Jackets

Not what you'd wear outside in the subarctic freeze: Blazers. GAUDET showed several strong-shouldered blazers, each with its own unique pattern and color palette. Katrina Tuttle's magician-style jacket gives shape to an otherwise loose blouse.

Precise Pleating

For designers Andy Thê-Anh and Evan Biddell, pleating is expected and delivered on nearly every runway they send models down. Given their success, it’s of no surprise that Canadian designers have picked up on the trend.
