Trending in Beauty: Mint Green Eyeshadow

Mint green has been a trending colour for a few seasons now but that doesn't mean that the look is going anywhere. This summer, mint green is back and we must admit, we're pretty happy about it! Mint is such a fresh and pretty colour. With all the different shades of mint; from a pale, faded hue to a bright and bold colour, you're bound to find one that works on you.

One of my very favourite ways to wear mint is with an eye catching nail polish. Here are a few of my favourites for this summer:

1. Essie Spring 2012 Nail Polish Collection in Navigate Her (C$9.75)
2. Sally Hansen Smooth and Perfect Nail Color in Sea (US$5.50)
3. SpaRitual Nail Polish in Delight (C$12.50)
4. Zoya Nail Polish in Wednesday (US$8.00)

Other than in polish, mint never really caught on beauty-wise. Until, perhaps now. It seems like mint green eye makeup is popping up on celebs and on trendsetters all over the place. While greens are usually staple in a makeup collection, it isn't often you see such an intense but light colour on the eyes.

I have to admit that I kind of love this look! It won't be for everyone but the green really makes eyes pop! I especially love this look on Santigold (top left corner) because her dark skin tone really brings out the jewel tones in the mint.

Looking to try your hand at the minty eye trend? Play around with some of these options:

1. The Body Shop Eye Shimmer in Emerald (C$12.00)
2. Dior 5 Colour Designer All-In-One Artistry Palette (C$59.00)
3. Stila Eye Shadow Pan in Cha Cha (US$18.00)
4. Lancome Color Design 5 Shadow and Liner Palette (C$48.00)
5. Illamasqua Cream Pigment in Bedaub (C$24.00)
6. MAC Aquavert Shadow in Mint (C$18.00)

What do you think of the mint look? Is this beauty trend best left to the celebs on the red carpet? Should we stick to mint polishes and fashion and leave the shadows behind?

I love this combination! Lately I have been into pastel colors and this is amazing! In my opinion Jada Pinkett knocks this look out of the ballpark!!

I really love the green eyeshadow, nail and fashion (clothes, shoes, bag) look! Well, not worn together obviously :-)

I think light colours (colours, not ashy looking beige swatches) look great on any skin tone! They really help brighten up the eye and looks gorgeous. It's just about finding the right shade for your skin tone.

I really recommend MUFE Aqua cream (http://www.sephora.com/aqua-cream-P262109?skuId=1247188) . They have 3 shades of green: Turquoise, Emerald and Acid. They last and last, don't crease, and you can apply it as a liner if the wash of green is too vibrant to wear.

I love green eye shadow because it goes with my greenish eyes and red hair :) But I love the new trendy mint colour on my nails too.

Green is my favorite colour so I absolute love the look on these ladies! :)
I've been going with more neutral colours for my shadows lately but I might just have to pick up one of these mint colored options!
I like the shade from the Body Shop! I've never thought to look at the Body Shop for makeup before!

I think it depends on the person. I don't think it would look good on myself, but it looks nice on a few of these women. I haven't really seen anyone other then celebs wearing it, so I think the look will fade in time.
