Trending in Beauty: What's a CC Cream?

This past year, one of the major beauty innovations to hit the market was the BB cream. While BB creams had been popular in Asia for a while, they've only recently become commonplace here in North America. BB stands for Blemish or Beauty Balm and it's marketed as an 'all-in-one' product that brightens and offers moisturization and coverage.

Now, if you thought those were great, I'm about to knock your socks off with the introduction of the CC cream! Think of it like BB's older, much cooler brother who drives a motorcycle and plays in a band and...you get the idea.

CC stands for Colour Control or Colour Correction. Like the name suggests, CC creams focus more on dark spots and correcting skin tone. Most have SPF or ingredients like vitamin C to help fade pigmentation. The formula and consistency also promises to be more lightweight than a BB cream. Chicks south of us have already been able to try some of these out. We're pretty excited to get on our hands on them, but here in Canada, we're going to have to wait a while.

Here are a few CC creams we are looking forward to nabbing up:

1. Chanel CC Cream Correction Complete SPF30PA+++ (US$79.99)

2. Olay CC Cream Total Effects Tone Correcting Moisturizer with SPF 15 (US$21.50)

3. Juice Beauty Stem Cellular Repair CC Cream (US$39.00)

4. Rachel K CC Cream Original (C$32.00)

5. Rachel K Mineral CC Pressed Powder (C$38.00)

What do you think of the BB or CC cream trend? Will you be trying them when they come out?

These sound perfect for me! Love my bb creams, and the cc seems like it will do much more...hopefully get some wrinkle-fading action in there too!

Will be interested to try how these work! Just started using bb's a few months ago and am loving their versatility, so these will be an exciting next step.

I haven't tried any of the CC Creams yet. They sound pretty interesting though! I'll look forward to reading some reviews from the ladies on here, and then maybe test them out myself.

The only BB cream I've used, I didn't like much. Maybe CC is what I should try.

I recently tried a BB cream. It was alright. I found that it gave much the same results as foundation (a little lighter though) but I felt more greasy and shiny. I'd definitely like to try a CC cream though because I really want a more even coverage. They seem wayyyy overpriced though. Maybe when they come to Canada we'll get to try them through you guys???? I haven't had a review club offer in a while...

I don't even use foundation any more. I only use BB Cream because I've found it gives me just enough coverage with out looking to made up. I can't wait to try the new CC Creams. I just read a review that was done for the Olay CC Cream and this person wasn't thrilled with it. I sure hope that's not the case when we get to try it. Is there any chance of a CC Cream review coming up???
