How can you bring an outfit form blah to ba-bang? How can you achieve a super cute and original look with just one addition?

Let me introduce you to the 'Peter Pan Collar'!

Designers have adopted the trend in their own ways with scallop detailing, contrasting colours and prints.

The peter pan collar has been rising in popularity for some time now. With some help from Hollywood's brightest style stars and with the variety of styles of the peter pan collar, it's hard not to jump on the trend bandwagon.

(clockwise from left) Alexa Chung pops her collar underneath a grey sweater; Emma Watson's collar complements her pixie cute and textured overlay; Hailee Steinfeld stands out in an embellished jewelled collar.

Rock the peter pan collar in a dress or top: either way, it's a fun and retro look!

So, a peter pan collar isn't your thing but you still love the look of one? Why not try a collar necklace? These options come in jewelled or metallic options that can take a basic outfit to the next level.

They're adorable, that's for sure, but what about the wearability of the peter pan collar? Do you think this look can be translated from the runway into everyday wear? Or do you think this trend will be short-lived?

Love the necklaces, but I could never do it on clothing. I can't stand collars that go up to my neck; they make me feel like I'm choking. And honestly, I think that you'd have to be very selective on how to wear it to pull it off. Otherwise, it just looks prude-like and little-girlish.

I vote short lived. It's a little cutesy for the moment, though I personally wouldn't rock it. But I love the necklaces!

So cute. I have been seeing this everywhere, but until it was pointed out, I hadn't realized how many people I've seen with this trend. But I never knew that they were called peter pan collars...

It's cute, not Hot... it's going to be short lived. I think if you have great structure in your face, like cheekbones, jaw or defined face shape, Then you can probably pull this trend off no problem.

If your face is more rounded...less structured, it's going to be harder the collar to work for you.
need a good neck line as well. If you look for pics of women wearing this trend with short/no neck line or rounded faces, you'll see how it doesn't really work for them. =(

Cute on some people, but I don't think I could pull it off.

I think it's a cute look, but for myself it's a nay. I do not look at all good in high collared shirts.
