Valentine's Day Movie Date Night: Rom Com Staff Picks Round Up
Whether you're spending V Day with a choice hottie, solo or with your BGF (best girl friend), Valentine's calls for a movie date night. Here are a few of our absolute faves to pop in on the 14th.
Rachel
10 Things I Hate About You: I've always had a soft spot for this flick. It's always refreshing watching these blast-from-the-past movies for their old-school traditions: getting permission from pops to go out on the date, the valley girl who's just DYING to go to prom... you get the idea. Oh, and Heath Ledger isn't so bad to look at either.
Just Married: How freaking PRECIOUS are Brittany Murphy and Ashton Kutcher in this heart wrencher?! It shows all sides of marriage as opposed to the unrealistic fluff we're usually exposed to in rom coms. If you want a good belly laugh or to shed a minor tear, be sure to grab this one.

Crazy, Stupid, Love: Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone are amazing together. Ryan Gosling takes his shirt off and obviously looks perfect. It has interconnecting story-lines and lots of laughs. It also features the always hilarious Steve Carrel. Hands down favourite rom-com and just so you know, it's perfectly fine to watch it again and again and again.
He's Just Not That Into You: With a star studded cast, it's hard to resist this movie. It's based on a self-help book which talks about misreading the signs, which is a constant problem for over thinkers (i.e. me). This movie also makes you realize that if Bradley Cooper isn't into you there are so many other fish in the sea. Great movie to watch during girls night.

Just Go With It: Jennifer Aniston is extremely likeable in this flick and Adam Sandler is entertaining as always. This film taught me not only that coning someone can lead to love but also that I must go to Hawaii because the locations in this movie were spectacular. A fun, light movie to pop in on a lazy afternoon!
Bridesmaids: It's a raunchy film for the hopeless romantic. I'm sure everyone can relate to Annie in that sometimes you lose control of life, get stuck in a rut, breakup, lose a job, and have to deal with a 'Helen'. Kristen Wiig is one of the funniest people ever. This movie steers clear of the typical 'rom com' format, but you still root for her and the adorable cop to get together.

Sixteen Candles: I love the 80's fashion and music. This movie was pretty much my bible in high school. It's ridiculous, funny, sweet and your every fantasy comes to life in the love interest, Jake Ryan. He's pretty much ruined all other men for me.
The Wedding Singer: Again, I love me some 80's style, so this gets me right in the feels. Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler have amazing chemistry together and the song at the end will make you sniffle just a little.
What's your favourite rom com?

Very good selection of movies! I like all of these movies :) Another good one, which I have recently stumbled on is Girl on A Bicycle, it's a romcom and an International movie. It's really really good and I recommend it to all you ladies to watch. | |
