We Love Fridays: 10 Cold Weather Transition Fashions

It's that wonderfully weird time of the year again when it's not warm anymore, but not yet cold enough for a winter jacket, either. And this definitely makes for a great layering season.

I find that having a good wardrobe stocked with functional and practical pieces is key to dressing for this weather. However, just like our cute but practical shoes article, always remember that you don't need to skimp on style! If you layer smartly, you can bundle up and keep cosy but oh so adorable at the same time!

Here are 10 items that I love for this weather:

1. Zara Aran Knit Crossover Cardigan (C$49.90)
2. Urban Outfitters Fleece-Lined Tight (US$18.00)
3. Old Navy Belted Performance Fleece Peacoats (C$20.00, on sale)
4. Browns Boots (C$198.00)
5. Attitude Jay Manuel Women's Short Plaid Jacket with Faux Leather Sleeves (C$119.99)

1. Reitmans Faux leather jacket (C$49.00)
2. Edit by Jeanne Beker Plaid Poncho (C$141.00, on sale)
3.
Plenty Maison Scotch Army Jacket (C$329.00)
4. Forever 21 Over The Knee Socks (C$3.80)
5. H&M Scarf (C$19.95)

How do you keep warm this time of year?

I love it when the weather starts to get cold because you can officially start layering clothes. While my fall and winter wardrobe usually consist of neutral and dark colours, I've been trying to incorporate more colours into my outfits. I love that purple peacoat! I've also been obsessed with scarves lately - they just help tie a look together.

The only thing I hate about layering all of this cotton or fleece this time of year is getting soggy in the rain. It takes forever to dry :(

I'm all for layering a long sleeved patterned t-shirt under a sweater and rolling up the sleeves for the pattern to peak through. Also totally into leg warmers and boot cuffs! And, I've been wearing tights under my ripped jeans :) Pashminas are also always foolproof in this weather.

I am not a fan of ponchos whatsoever. But I love fall fashion. I am wearing a whole bunch of cardigans, scarves, boots, and sweaters!

@Bren I had the same sort of thing! I bought a poncho a few years a go at a thrift shop and I have NEVER worn it. I don't know why, but it is now the perfect weather for it!

I bought a vintage poncho/cape about 20 years ago in a vintage shop in Eugene,Oregon it must be really old now lol....But I've always had it in the back of my closet and even when I moved I couldn't part with it.I think its time to start wearing it!

I was at the woman's expo last weekend and one booth was selling really pretty hand made poncho's. I was going to buy one but she wanted more then I had on me at the time. I remember wear them when we were kids, but they sure didn't look like they do now!
